Ravens-Patriots one-liners

Said Ravens WR Mark Clayton of his fourth-down dropped pass that sealed the 27-21 loss, “It was a perfect ball. I dropped it. I just wasn’t able to come up
with it, and it cost us the game.”

The Ravens picked up 116 yards on the ground even though they only ran the ball only 17 times.

Ravens KR Chris Carr fumbled the opening kickoff, which quickly turned into a Patriots field goal.

Ken Murray of the Baltimore Sun doesn’t think the Ravens have any valid argument with either of the roughing the passer calls they picked up on Sunday.

Ravens LB Brendon Ayanbadejo needs surgery to repair a torn left quadriceps which will probably end his season.

Patriots CB Leigh Bodden killed a Ravens drive inside the red zone with a foot-dragging sideline interception.

Patriots RB Sammy Morris’s final numbers — six carries for 21 yards — were less impressive than the two times he gained tough yards to keep scoring drives alive.

WR Wes Welker led the Patriots with six catches in his return to the lineup after missing two weeks due to injury.

Patriots QB Tom Brady was 21 of 32 for 258 yards and a touchdown, and added a rushing touchdown.

DL Mike Wright had a pair of sacks, giving him three for the season and quieting doubts about how the Patriots could replace Richard Seymour.

Guess this will scuttle the talk of the Patriots demise for one more week.

    hey would,
It won’t scuttle the demise talk at all…it just makes the haters look like more of an idiot than usual.
Ya see, the Patriots haters are like the French. They look over at America and see the freedoms, the success, and the general beauty of the American way and can’t stand it. So they take ridiculous pot shots at whatever they can. Don’t hate us cause were beautiful. (i cant’ stop laughing at the other teams lemmings!)

Great game by Baltimore. If not for a few passes at the end of the game that Ravens receivers should have caught they likely have another win…
Brady and the Patriots won’t kid themselves about that and that will drive them harder.
Flacco is the real deal. Baltimore is going to have a great season.

I was one if the few skeptics that didn’t think the Ravens were good considering their opponents, point now taking they are very good. Glad I bought my ticket for sunday’s game versus the bengals.

There’s a reason that Clayton dropped that pass at the end of the game. The patriots’ DBs were very physical all game long with the Ravens’ undersized receivers. Clayton heard footsteps (just like Joey Galloway did last week.) He was afraid of the big hit that was coming.
I think the Pats’ secondary is tremendously improved from last season. Bon Voyage Ellis Hobbs. You are NOT missed.

Where are all the Patriots haters now??? Come on, ItalianArmyGuy, let’s hear from your fat mouth!
The Patriots are three and one, not one and three, and they just knocked off the team that was power ranked Number One in the AFC!
The defense that everyone said was dead in the water because of the loss of Vrabel, Bruschi, Harrison, Seymour, Seau and on and on and on, has done a first rate job so far – even without Jerod Mayo! – and they’re getting better every single week.
The offense that everyone said was dead because Brady was all washed up, the O line sucked, and Randy Moss was into his head games again, is starting to click again. That was a first rate defense they just laid 27 points on, not the Bengals or the Raiders!
Where are all you big mouth “Spygate” douche bags NOW?????

“Clayton heard footsteps (just like Joey Galloway did last week.) He was afraid of the big hit that was coming.”
Word. After I saw it a few times I believe he was bracing for impact. The two Pat defenders were closing in fast. Still should catch the damn ball, though.
Baltimore sports talk callers keep blaming the referees. The Ravens blew their chances, and had a tough time with Brady and Co., simple as that. Bad calls have always been a part of the game – you can’t use them as an excuse!
Still hopeful for a good year, though. It’s nice to be able to move the ball for a change.

While I don’t disagree with your main point because I’m a Patriots fan, your analogy is a typical, stupid American point of view. The French, I’m pretty sure, don’t look over at the US and have feelings of jealousy. They see fat, retarded, conservative, religious morons who care more about who’s winning on Sunday than the state of their backwards country. There’s a reason you’ve been brought up to hate the French, you just haven’t seen it yet because you’re too blind, stupid, arrogant… you pick the pejorative and it’ll fit just fine.

The Patriots played some very good defense. I was impressed. Their secondary was starting to make me jealous.
And still, I think aside from a few hiccups, the Ravens played some great offense. Ray Rice was ON FIRE. That was actually an exciting loss. Too bad Clayton missed an easy catch at the end of the game. They could have sealed it.
No matter which team you’re a fan of, that was a pretty damn good football game, officiating aside. As it happens, I think that officiating in the NFL is just poor in general… last year it was TERRIBLE. I expect this year will be no different.
