Saints-Jets one-liners

The Saints went to 4-0 for the third time in franchise history with a convincing 24-10 victory over the Jets that was keyed by their defense, which is now leading the league in turnovers forced.

Saints DLs Will Smith and Charles Grant, on reprieve from the NFL for a possible suspension, have returned to dominant form the last two weeks.  Each had two sacks against the Jets.

S Darren Sharper noticed a tendency of Mark Sanchez to lock on to receivers, and baited him into two costly picks.

An excellent offseason of free agent and coaching additions has transformed the Saints defense.

The fast start in New Orleans has some optimistic Saints fans thinking about an undefeated season.  Seriously.

After Mark Sanchez's four turnovers, which directly led to 14 Saints points, his teammates stuck behind him.  "We're behind that kid 100 percent.  There's no need to panic," said Jets LB Bart Scott.

Saints LB Jonathan Vilma on Sanchez's low hit after an interception, for which Sanchez was flagged for an unsportsmanlike penalty: "He got my knees. Thank God, I didn't get hurt. I hope he gets fined for it, like Brett Favre in the preseason." Despite all of Sanchez's turnovers, the Jets decided to throw on third-and-one twice in the second half.

The Jets defense did an excellent job stuffing the Saints offense, especially the passing attack.

New York is struggling to find any receivers to step up other than Jerricho Cotchery.

I think the Jets "stuffing" the NO O is a bit overrated.

Thanks to the D, they had a 14 pt lead for much of the game.

It is highly doubtful that the passing attack was the same as it would have been if the game were closer.

Sanchez goes low on Vilma... and Vilma wants him fined.

Ray Lewis tells Vilma to take off the dress and put on Rodney Harrison's pants.

As a Saints fan I have to give a lot of credit to the Jets D. They are for real. I think Drew would have taken more chances downfield without the early lead but there's no way to know how that would have gone. Brees has a great arm but Revis and Rhodes are ballers. Our pass rush and Darren Sharper were the difference.

Hey "tv", did you check the stats or watch the game? The Jets held the Saints to pedestrian numbers the entire game. That 14 pt lead also was a 7 point lead for a good chunk of the 2nd half. With the game that close you would think the Saints would want to shut the door and score a td with their great passing attack, no? Revis blanketed Colston all day and the Jets blitzed less than normal so very few Saints were able to get open for big gains. The Jets also "stuffed" the Saints twice on 4th and short (the only reason they got the 3rd attempt was due to Jenkins' penalty). 10 points, 4 quarters, against arguably the best O in football. Maybe not "stuffing" but pretty damn close.

That said, I don't want to come off as a bitter Jets fan. You guys beat us up and made Sanchez look like the rookie that he is which is something the Texans, Pats, and Titans couldn't do. The Saints are scary-good this year.

    .

Its ridiculous for the Jets to be struggling at WR - They could have signed Matt Jones weeks ago.

That's ok, the Jets play the Fins this week. If Sanchez doesn't throw for 275+ yards on our defense, then he's not that great a QB. Our secondary is not that good, to say the least.

It should be a good tough game though.
