One-for-two trade makes for a nervous morning in Cleveland

The Browns have not yet officially announced the trade of receiver Braylon Edwards to the Jets.

The reason?  They’re getting two players from the Jets in exchange for Edwards.

And this means that the Browns need to make another roster move.

And this means that someone probably will be getting cut.  (The only other alternative would be to place a player on injured reserve.)

So stay tuned.  Someone will possibly be getting fired in Cleveland today.  And, frankly, given the way things have been going, we’re wondering whether it’s an appropriate occasion for the cork-popping sound effect that ESPN’s Chris Berman has been using lately.

Going to make add/drops interesting for fantasy owners, too.
Braylon’s only 84% owned in Yahoo leagues.

    Cut Mangina!

  7. Akron Rules says: Oct 7, 2009 9:23 AM

If Phil Dawson is ready to kick, they can cut Cundiff.

Brilliant move for Cleveland. This should springboard the team to at least 2 wins this season.

  9. Jeremy Hurst says: Oct 7, 2009 9:28 AM

    I forgot about Cundiff.
Normally, this trade would be good, but with Clevelands inability to draft talent outside of Joe Thomas, it scares me.

The only way to get out of clevland is to pick a fight with a cavs players entourage?
I heard Brady Quim is going to fight shaq

This stinks of Jets tampering with Crabtree. Unfortunately Coach Ryan ate the evidence.

I agree with Akron rules, probably Cundiff will get cut.

Quinn vs. Shaq….now THAT would be worth the $100 ticket!
Edwards vs. the NY media should be an interesting under card event.

Hmmm might Quinn be next? Looks like Mangini has evaluated the Browns roster and does not like what he sees. Mangini is trading some questionable high profile, high level talent for solid mid-tier talent and draft picks. Remaking the Browns in his own image.
The Browns aren’t going anywhere this year. So perhaps the strategy will be worth the risk. I guess we will know in a year or two.
To pull off a move like this does make me think that Mangini must have the confidence of Lerner

Cleveland should trade away Derick Anderson for a draft pick.
Smart rebuilding type move. Then nobody gets cut.

I’m sure that Cleveland can find someone with that fifth round pick to come in and routinely drop passes, be a cancer in the locker room, and pick fights with the King’s entourage. If you don’t have to run fast, I’d be happy to go do that for a year!

Edwards is big, strong and fast……but he has hands of stone and is immature. I’m pissed that they gave the Browns so much for a guy like this. Very sorry to see Stuckey go, he has tremedous upside and was still developing. The Browns got the better end of this deal.
I have a very uneasy feeling about this trade.
