Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will return Sunday for a broken rib that caused him to miss two games.
Eagles quarterback Mike Vick will be making his second regular-season appearance as a member of the team.
And a league source tells us that Vick is expected to have a bigger role against the Buccaneers than he had in his debut in Week Three, against the Chiefs.
Vick had one rush attempt for seven yards and he threw two incomplete passes, one of which might have caught the eye of any duck hunters in the viewing audience.
Sunday’s game includes an added level of potential drama, given that McNabb complained openly about the extent to which the periodic insertion of Vick into the game disrupted the rhythm of the base offense.
“Before you can come up with gimmicks,” McNabb said four days after the only game in which he and Vick both played, “before you can come up with something else, you got to get your base offense going.”
It’ll be interesting to see whether the coaches take McNabb’s advice — and whether McNabb has anything to say about it if they don’t.
It really won’t matter either way because the Bucs really doesn’t pose any threat. That is likely why McNabb is willing to come back early, to get some awesome stats against the Bucs WEAK D!

If he has lost that lightning speed that he once had – and so far, it appears that he has – then he’s just another bad quarterback. I don’t get Philly’s interest in him given that they have McNabb and Kolb (who’s looked pretty good this year) in the fold.
I’m just waiting for Kolb to take over at this point. Can McNabb play? Sure he can. But it was sweet watching receivers get the ball in the belly on a dead run.
Vick is only working on how high a draft pick Reid will gewt for him this winter. There is no freaking way that a third QB is going to get 5 Mil from the Eagles next year.

Vick wasn’t that great when he was playing regularly. The Eagles always had his # If you keep him in the pocket and make him pass all the time , he was your bitch !
Sometimes the logic in your articles really stink. Always looking for a controversy. For one thing, in the preseason game, Reid was trying to work both Vick and McNabb in ONE HALF of football. So it was more frequent which made it more disruptive. More playing time doesn’t mean more frequent since it WILL BE SPREAD OVER AN ENTIRE GAME. So Vick will most like get more snaps, but it won’t be as frequent since Reid won’t be trying to squeeze everything in. So if Vick get 3 snaps a qtr that already more plays, but it doesn’t mean it’s disruptive. Also it depends on the flow of the game. If you line Vick up on a 4th and short for a QB draw. He gets the first down and McNabb is happy because he goes out there on fresh downs. I’m sure they’ve been practicing since then so kinda not a big of a deal as a preseason game.
