With all signs seemingly pointing toward Giants quarterback Eli Manning not playing on Sunday against the Raiders, Manning now seems to be back on track to play on Sunday against the Raiders.
He returned to practice on Friday, after missing Wednesday and Thursday due to a foot/heel/plantar fascia thing.
Per the Associated Press, Manning “seemed to run a little gingerly.”
Backup David Carr took the first five snaps in team drills, but Carr then yielded to Manning.
Manning has started 82 straight games. But if there’s any doubt regarding Eli’s possibility for re-injury, the Giants need to take into account the fact that they’re playing, you know, the Raiders.
please giant’s management just sit this guy for this week!
raiders won’t have a chance, not even if al davis was the qb for the giants!
I say sit Eli, they could win this game with me as their QB against the Raiders. all I’d have to do is get in field goal range, wait the giants miss a lot of kicks. Anyways the point is that Jemarcus fat ass cant lead a scoring drive so 3 points will do it.
Eli should sit this week. Raiders can’t stop the run and Carr can hand the ball to Jacobs and Bradshaw all afternoon. Who cares about the streak when you’re at New Orleans next Sunday and then play the Cards, @ Philly, Chargers and Falcons.
I hope Eli sits this out because I just picked up Carr! But I’d still rather play Carr as a backup instead of Jamarcuss! Damn, Brees and the bye!
“the Giants need to take into account the fact that they’re playing, you know, the Raiders”
Who are still fully capable of sacking the QB. Giants are playing with fire if they play Eli. It’s a huge risk and for what? If Carr is not capable then why the hell is he the backup? Oakland is not a division or a conference opponent. Let Eli sit and heal before the schedule turns nasty. I am baffled as to why they would take such a huge risk here.
The Giants should def. let Carr play…As aluded to before, they are playing the Raiders. Also this could serve multiple purposes. They can slow down the saints from scouting Eli and the offense and, if Carr plays well, increase his trade value…
He’ll be fine just as long as there isn’t a strong wind.
Eli needs to start the game.
Test the ankle, if it isn’t up to par, then replace him with David Moped.
If Manning is comfortable, then leave him in and if they get a lead, then bring in the scrub backup.
Oh my God! FLorio you can’t be serious!? The Giants playing the Raiders!? Great news. Genius. Anyways w/ either QB the Raiders were gonna have a hard time. But you never know. These football games are week to week and suprises happen. Follow me on twitter RelentlessIV. ONE NATION, RAIDER NATION.

======================================
We’ll be coming after him and he won’t be able to run away with that foot.
This could be one really bad decision.
“The quarterback must go down, and he must go down hard.”
you know, the Raiders, are still capable of rushing the passer. They can’t stop the run, but they can still force a passing down now and then. If Manning isn’t healthy, he should sit.
