In this week’s PFT picks, I opted to go with the Falcons over the 49ers for one simple reason.
The Falcons were rested, and they need it more.
OK, that’s two reasons.
I called it a must-win game for the Falcons in the SportingNews.com 10-pack. After a 2-0 start and a sluggish performance at New England, the Falcons had slid off the “A” list in the NFC, especially with the Saints racing to a 4-0 start.
So the Falcons were juiced up and the 3-1 49ers were due for a correction.
Though I thought it would be a lot closer, the Falcons already seem to be on track to win easily. They lead 35-10 at the half.
It’s a franchise-record output for Atlanta in 30 minutes of football.
Still, the Falcons shouldn’t shut it down just yet. The Niners authored the greatest comeback in regular-season history in 1980 against the Saints, erasing a 35-7 halftime deficit. And San Fran also has the second-best turnaround in playoff history; against the Giants in January 2003, the 49ers roared back from 24 points in the hole.
Hell, we’re trying too hard to get people to keep watching a game that isn’t being televised by NBC.
Damn!! What the hell happened to Singletary’s stingy defense??
Peep Dre Bly pimping his interception only to have it stripped by Roddy White. You’re down 35-10 ya jackass.
The defense was set back early by a couple of turnovers, and then i just snowballed on them. The offense just isn’t that good without Frankie.. This sucks…
Easy there North Kittydelphia- I’m a fan of the mighty Favre led Vikings. Life is good.
I was the few that played the hold up, lets wait and see approach, B4 I started pumping my team. We still might make the playoffs by default because we play in a bad division.
Obvious the rebuilding effort is taking place. Shaun Hill is not the answer at QB. Good thing we have 2 first round picks and an environment player would love to be a part off.
