Why exactly was MC Hammer puttering around last Tuesday when the Niners and Michael Crabtree were working on ending the rookie wide receiver’s holdout?
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hammer was recently at a 49ers function and encountered Niners owner Jed York. Hammer said he knew both Crabtree’s agent, Eugene Parker, and Crabtree. According to Schefter, Hammer, “Helped get the two sides together.”
In the next breath, Schefter noted that, ”the meeting probably would have happened anyway.” So we’re still not sure whether Hammer helped get Michael Crabtree to sign a contract and begin playing football.
But Crabtree’s current relevance helped Hammer get his name mentioned infinitely more often in the past week than it would have been otherwise. And isn’t it clear that what it’s all about?
Huh?
“And isn’t it clear that what it’s all about?”
Umm–gee is it, Mr Florio?
Thank you Hammer, Thank you.
Not to be confused with Tom the ” Hammer” Delay, famous dancing with the stars standout.
Hey, the meeting may have been imminent, but Hammer probably didn’t hurt. Them.
Somebody had to get the party started. Crabtree seemed destined to re-enter the draft; luckily Hammer was 2 legit 2 Quit.
I hope that Crabtree hasn’t missed too much time; You gotta pray just to make it, today.
…I’m going stop, now.
Don’t under estimate Hammer’s intangibles.
Besides, now that Crab got paid, he probably needs a wardrobe & financial consultant.
What do you care that Hammer was involved??? What do you even know about him? Our University basketball team met him on a long flight once and he was incredibly nice.
Back off the Hammer!

Too Legit To Quit Tampering
And
Too Bigoted To Sign A Reasonable Contract
