Jaguars defender Quentin Groves was involved in a car accident on the way to catching his team plane Saturday, and received a warning from police for an improper lane change.
The father of one of the drivers Groves hit says the story isn't nearly that simple. Robyn Jackett accuses Groves of a hit-and-run, and getting special treatment from the Jacksonville Airport Police.
We already wrote this post once, then the blue screen of death ate it, so here's the quick version, according to Jackett.
Jackett alleges through First Coast News that Groves hit two cars, totaling one. He then reportedly got out of his car, said he was a Jaguar and had to catch a plane before trying to leave.
Another witness reportedly blocked Groves' Cadillac Escalade from going too far, so the police were called. When they arrived, they handed Groves a warning.
Then drove him to his plane.
"You hear the news reports and things about what the Jaguars do and it's like well they're the Jacksonville Jaguars, they're celebrities. It seems like they get a different justice then the rest of us would," Jackett said.
Jackett's son went to the hospital and the wife of the other driver says her husband is still in the hospital with a concussion and back pain.
Groves, meanwhile, played for the Jaguars Sunday in Seattle, but didn't record a tackle.
When he returns to Jacksonville, he will have to deal with a story we suspect isn't going away.

Big rush to lose 41-0. Gotta love his heart.
If only he could hit and run on a football field.
I don't care if he plays football or walks on water,he should have been treated like you or I would have been.
I don't know if I buy this account just because I know the Jacksonville police give special treatment to no one, lol. they could care less that he's a football player and on a bad team on top of all that.
RealFootballFan woke up this morning still hammered and wrote that cops don't give special treatment. Hopefully he sobers up by Wednesday and takes off the rose colored glasses.
