Bills-Browns one-liners

With the offense grounded, Cleveland’s special teams led the way in a 6-3 victory over the Bills, Eric Mangini’s first as Browns coach.

RB Jamal Lewis carried the ball 31 times in his return to the lineup, while Jerome Harrison took a backseat. “He’s got those fresh legs,” said Mangini of Lewis.

QB Derek Anderson only completed 2-of-17 passes in windy conditions for a franchise record low 23 yards, but nine drops from his teammates didn’t help.

The players awarded Mangini a game ball after the win. (He’s considering a fine for taking team property.)

The Browns have failed to score a touchdown on 97.7 percent of their past 128 possessions.

Ralph Wilson Jr. was supposed to receive his Hall of Fame ring at halftime, but it never happened. (Was he worried about boos?)

QB Trent Edwards is being called “Captain Checkdown” in Buffalo after another lackluster effort.

Asked if the Bills had hit rock bottom, WR Lee Evans said, “I certainly hope so. I can’t stand to see it get any worse.”

Buffalo’s makeshift offensive line had an amazing nine false starts.

Some headlines for Buffalo Monday: “Now that self-respect is gone, Jauron must go too, Bills can’t be more pathetic, Stupefying loss leaves Bills wondering what’s wrong.”
