Colts not concerned with Manning's sore knee

Five weeks into the 2009 season, the Colts don’t have a lot to worry about.

They are ahead three games in the AFC South, and it’s hard to come up with any scenario they don’t make the playoffs for the eighth straight year.

Okay, there’s one scenario — a Peyton Manning injury.  The early favorite for MVP honors was hit in the knee Sunday night, but the Colts aren’t worried about it.

“We haven’t had any indication after the game that it was anything
serious,” Colts coach Jim Caldwell said. “I know he’s a little sore. We’ll get a little
better view of that in the next day or so.”

Manning’s otherworldly numbers have been aided by a string of easy matchups, and that won’t come end anytime soon with a bye this week, then a game against the Rams the following week.

When the Colts return, they are very hopeful to get back three key starters: safety Bob Sanders, cornerback Kelvin Hayden, and wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez.

Rosenpalms are you on the Pats payroll yet?
String of easy foes…. 3 of them were division winners…. How many teams have played 3 division winners in their first 5 games?
Just because Tommy Crybrady isn’t getting it done, hate on the best ever….

The question is: Does Anthony Gonzalez get his #2 spot back or has Collie or Garcon taken the job over?

Ugh, our schedule has been so soft this year. Stupid AFC south.
I’m interested to see how well we play against a real opponent.

Zox-good question and I’ll be intrigued to see how it shakes out. My guess is Gonzo gets his spot back over the 2 young guys but, the Colts are definitely set at wr for the forseeable future.
Collie has WILDLY exceeded expectations and looks like a natural at the slot while Garcon is a raw burner on the outside who has refined his game tremendously. Both could use more seasoning, though.

A Monday night game on the road in Miami and then turn around and play in AZ on Sun night? Easy match ups? My hat is off to the organization. They look like they all mean business this year.

Another dig at the Colts? How shocking. You guys are more biased than Fox News.

While I agree that the Colts haven’t exactly faced a murderer’s row by any means, as the other comments on here indicate, three road primetime games in four weeks (@MIA, @AZ, @TEN) is brutal. I wouldn’t exactly call that a soft schedule.

Most sports fans are sickening. Keep hating Tom Brady for doing the same thing every other QB in the league does. That is what ESPN is telling you to do, so keep it up you mindless drones.
Hope Peyton Manning is ok. Unlike most NFL fans, Pats fans like to see THE BEST players on the field playing.

This roughing the passer trend is out of control. Peyton got a couple at least , and I watched the game for
