Is anyone ever going to realize that the Democrats are the ones that WANTED TO KEEP SLAVERY and the Republicans were the ones that set them free. Now if you look at what is being said and who is saying it it comes more from the Democratic Party than any other. Talk about slavery being abloished?.....have you ever looked at Welfare...they tell you where to live, how much money you can have to eat on, how much your check will be....etc. (Sound familiar) that is a form of slavery. I know a lot of Africian Americans who pulled themselves out of the "welfare" rut and made something of themselves. And by the way there are a lot of white people who abuse the system as well. This is a country od free speech.
I'll give props for acknowledging that Rush might not have said this, rather than reporting it as established fact as many are. Other than that, this is one of the weakest pieces of psuedojournalism I've ever seen. The premise of this piece is very clearly wrong. What part of this is not clear?
(From the show transcript):
"I never said them."
More:
Now, we are in the process behind the scenes working to get apologies and retractions with the force of legal action against every journalist who has published these entirely fabricated quotes about me, slavery, and James Earl Ray. I never said them. We have tracked them. We know where they came from. We don't know the identity but we know where they came from, a single blogger who posted the stuff on my Wikipedia page in Wiki quotes, unsourced. Wikipedia says, "Well, this is in dispute." It's not in dispute. They were never uttered. I never said them. And I've even told reporters, "I never said them."

@ chapnasty
I'm fairly confident that you don't know how to use the word "sarcasm" properly. I'll make the introduction for you.
sar·casm> noun.
1. harsh or bitter derision or irony.
2. a sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark
If you were, in fact, being sarcastic when you said,
"You my friend are an idiot. The difference between Conservatives and Liberals is that when Conservatives graduate college they get jobs and see how much money we lose in our paychecks because of Liberal policies and tax hikes. While Liberals go out and community organize, take pictures of things and then make them black and white, act in plays, try to save trees and smoke your weed. Basically providing nothing of use to the well being of the country."
Then you do not actually believe what you just said. By definition, you actually believe the opposite. You did mention you had a college degree. Did you keep your receipt?

Florio,
First, as a lawyer, you are disingenuous at best to suggest that Limbaugh should sue for slander/libel considering the standard for proof. It is ludicrous to suggest that someone should have the burden of proof to show that un-sourced comments are indeed theirs.
Second, your "general denial" quote was poorly researched. Looking at Limbaugh's own web site would have shown you that Limbaugh did strongly deny the quotes that have been attributed to him by bloggers and liberal sports journalists. Several comments have been posted that include the full text.
Third, Limbaugh had his team spend some time on research and a proper legal approach to this issue, which he has discussed on his program today. I hope you will take time to listen and follow up your irresponsible post with something that does not make you seem a shill for NBC.

Also missing is the importance of an MO.
Rush Limbaugh may or may not have made those statements. But it is certainly plausible that he did.
-------------------------------------------
Bwahahhahaha...you've got to be kidding? right? tongue-in-cheek?
Someone makes up a lie, the person being accused flat-out denies it, and upon further review there's absolutely no evidence to support the accusation, and you say it's plausible?
It's plausible that JOE BIDEN said:
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man." OR
"You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.... I'm not joking." OR
"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened."
Oh wait, those quotes of Biden are based on actual statements…documented.

I'm convinced people use the term lib for the same reason people use the term preggo or preggers.
They are unsure how to actually spell the word.
They use the word "liberal" to describe anyone who isn't a kool-aid drinking conservative like they are - that's their view of the world, only two kinds of people; Conservatives and Liberals.
The truth is, there -are- two kinds of people, conservatives, and eveyone else, or more accurately, people who can think for themselves and make up their own minds.
That really pisses the conservatives off.
They want everyone to think alike, act alike and believe the same ideas, yet they want to accomplish this by using fear & divisive tactics.
Makes sense huh?

There are tons of liberal watch groups that listen to Limbaugh every day solely for the express purpose to see if he says something they can JUMP on.
Believe me, if Limbaugh had EVER said anything even remotely close to what Burwell said he did, it would have made national headlines INSTANTLY and the calls for his resignation would have began the same or next day. Gee Florio, I "wonder" why that never happened ??? Could it be that it never was said ???? Nahh, why let, you know, any F-A-C-T-S get in the way of "creating" a controversy ehh Olbermann, I mean Florio ???
Fact is Florio knows if Limbaugh HAD said this there'd be sound bites of it everywhere - it's not like you have to have some super secret password to listen to his show everyday - it's on 600 + radio stations, is in every market of the country, and is on in the middle of the day, not 3 AM. DUHHHHHH
Where are these sound bites if he said it Florio ??? Of course Florio is like 99.9 % of all liberals - he's never listened to the show - but somehow he "magically" knows what's said on it. So his opinion, like all liberals, comes from word of mouth of other liberals (who've also NEVER listened to the show) and by the time the story of what was said is repeated thousands of times, and is embellished a little more every time it's retold, you get the ridiculous comment that Burwell and his "I hate Limbaugh" web site came up with ... and then they just run with THAT comment, not the actual truth. The truth doesn't sell newspapers, get ratings on TV, or clicks on a web site, but made up $hit sure does. This is called the Olbermann-ization of the news. When you have no viewers, just make crap up so that a few more folks will tune in. They all know Limbaugh never ACTUALLY said this, but let's just say he did and the lemmings, I mean our liberal readers or viewers will just blindly believe it without any fact check or anything involved.
This is why Florio is like Keith Olbermoron - he just makes $hit up. Same with his lame story that Favre (because of his rib injury, or shoulder problems) now has some sort of "built in excuse" if his play faulters this year. Geez, Florio, when exactly has Favre ever used an injury as an excuse ??? He never did during the season last year. He's never missed a game in over 17 years you goof. Hell, he played 2003 with a broken thumb ... on his throwing hand ... and led the league in touchdown passes with 32. Played with a seperate shoulder, dislocated ankle, and god knows what else, and yet, Florio just "made up" that he'd have this so called "excuse" - because of his hatred for Favre, and to get a few more clicks on his web site.
The same thing with Florio saying that if Limbaugh's bid is turned down he'll paint himself as some sort of a victim. Further proof that Florio has NEVER listened. Limbaugh has never painted him as a victim .. ever. But again, why let FACTS get in the way of a good bull$hit story story, right Keith, I mean Mike ???
What a sad and pathetic man you must truly be.

Privilege yes, but they also allow convicted felons to play, if they don't draw the line there it is wide open. People with multiple DUI's get to coach and play. No wonder Warden Goodell is staying silent, he can recognize hypocrisy when he sees it.

Limbaugh popped pills but has never been arrested. He is famous for what he says, he says that stuff to make money.
Capitalist society, deal with it.
He is not even a majority owner so he would have little input into team management anyways.

Also missing is the importance of an MO.
Rush Limbaugh may or may not have made those statements. But it is certainly plausible that he did. The fact that type of comments can be attributed to a person and be believable based on that persons MO ought to make the NFL think thrice about awarding that person a franchise.
However... "awarding" a person the opportunity to spend a billion dollars to buy into the NFL is a joke. If Limbaugh, or any other person, wants to spend crazy money on buying an NFL team the concept of "award" only comes into play if there are more than one potential buyers.

Obviously you can rad Liberal talking points:
#1. It can be argued, accurately, that the current financial situation was largely a result of Bill Clinton and his policies that allowed anyone to buy a home regardless of their ability to afford it. Spearheaded by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, who also lined their own pockets in the process, and has led to the highest rate of foreclosures in a long time.
#2. I wonder how many memos land on the Presidents desk each day regarding attacks? Or if Obama has read the one that says "Iran planning to wipe strongest ally off the face of the earth"
#3. I agree with you that Bush went way down towards the end of his presidency because he was concerned about his legacy and not the welfare of the Ameican people. The bailouts that he started began the snowball effect that is now wasteful spending by our government.
#4. Towards the end of Clinton's presidency the economy was in decline. Bush turned it around which led to the stock market at an all time high of over 13,000. Of course the housign collapse caused it to plummit to 6000 i think? (see point 1)
#5. I am not sure what quality of life you are referring to when you say that Bush somehow caused to go down, but my life was great. I worked hard, 2 jobs in fact, paid my bills and got tax breaks which put more money in my pocket to spend, save and invest. I was able to obtain financial aid for school, where I worked full time while obtaining my degree.
#6. If Bush committed crimes the dems have a super majority and the ability to investigate within the congress, the fact that they havent should tell you something.
#7. Reagen was re-elected in the largest landslide in presidential history. He won 49 of 50 states so I dont the majority of people in this country didn't think he caused their quality of life to go down.
#8. This is going nowhere, I am not going to convince you no matter how much factualy real evidence I put forth. You are not going to convince me no matter how you word your opinions. So lets just end it. It was fun in the beginning but I am beginning to think Florio and his Squad just enjoy us doing this back and forth all day.
@ mattitude
I never claimed to have used facts in that point. I was just expressing that while I am at work busting my tail losing too much money out of my paycheck, some liberals are sitting on their couch watching the price is right at this very moment collecting welfare checks based off of how many kids they can produce. It obviously doesnt pertain to everyone and I am sorry if you didnt have the depth to understand the sarcasm.
And a "republican journalist" or a "liberal journalist" is what the problem is with the media. They should be fair and objecitve and challenge both sides. But MSNBC has been proven to not do though through extensive research. thats all.

You my friend are an idiot. Basically providing nothing of use to the well being of the country.
-------------------------------------------------
Wow, there a so many well-documented facts in your intelligent rant and not one single generalization. You must be some kind of republican super journalist. Do you have a weekly newsletter that I could subscribe to, so that I could benefit from your totally unbiased, competely well-informed opinion? Any free literature to hand out?

Ronald Reagen Tripled the deficit. Had two recessions and a near collapse of the banking system. Commited numerous crimes and the standard of living dropped.
George Bush was asleep at the switch on 9/11.
Check the memo entitled "Bin Laden To Attack
United States" that landed on his desk on 8/6.
He oversaw the doubling of the deficit and the near collapse of the American Banking system while leading the country into a near depression.
Somehow he managed to bring down the American peoples living standard after inheriting Americas strongest economy in decades and commited numerous crimes that Democrats are too stupid to prosecute.
If that is success for Republicans, I don't want to live through one of their failures.

"Clubbing baby seals is the most fun I've ever had." That is number one from the top 10 list of cruel Mike Florio quotes. Please, everyone spread that around until he can prove he didn't say it. Seriously people, how many of you have heard of newsone before this? How much credibility do they have? Even if you hate Rush, that doesn't give you the right to make things up or spread made up things. Too many people from both sides of the aisle take facts for granted if they happen to coincide with their predetermined opinions.

You my friend are an idiot. Basically providing nothing of use to the well being of the country.
@ sportnman
Yet another person proving ignorance on a topic. An African American columnist called him Barack the Magic Negro and Rush thought it was odd that no one called him out for it. So he did it to piss people off and point out how the left opperates. Listen to the lyrics and actually know what you are talking about before you speak.

Wow, you gotta love the logic of the libs:
- if it's on the web, it must be true
- if another lib journalist writes it, it must be true
- if a person doesn't deny a quote to my liking, he must have said something similar
Btw, did you see at the end of PTI last night where Wilbon said Rush called him and denied he ever said anything remotely about slavery and the streets being safer?????

In case you missed it, the media is reporting there is no evidence that Rush actually said that about slavery, of course, the smear tactics will continue, don't let the facts get in your way.

To repeat what a few of the intelligent posters here stated, the ditto heads would still agree with Rush even if audio proof was presented that proved he made those statements.

You're forgetting one thing, Florio: If Rush were to come out and put all the controversy to rest, you wouldn't have anything to make him money with. The guy must be loving this.
Think of all the people who thought he was washed up, hadn't heard a thing about him in years. Now half of them are going to listen to his show just to see if he says anything racist or inflamatory. Its brilliant. Give him his team.
BTW, Hitler did have his merits, that mustache was awesome.

@ praiseobama
Olbermann is an idiot because he supports failed policies like your Obama. Every policy that Obama is trying to pass has failed in other coutnries historically and led to their falling as a superpower. while dems like you may want the country to fail we dont.
When Rush talks about policies and ideas they have been tested over time and have been proven to work. That is why Olbermann is an idiot and Rush isnt.
Plus Rush never claims to be a journalist or even claims to be fair. He will tell you point blank his opinions and talks about them for 3 hours a day. Olbermann works for a news organization and claims to be a journalist. Fact is he does the same thing Rush does but from the other side. Yet another reason why he is an idiot.
Do I need to keep going or should I stop? Hell it wouldnt matter you read wikipedia and google searches for Rush being a racist and Obama being Jesus so its not worth it.
