Ralph Wilson won't make any coaching decisions "right now"

The minute Browns coach Eric Mangini accepted a few awkward hugs for his 6-3 victory in Buffalo Sunday, the speculation started regarding the future of his coaching counterpart, Dick Jauron of the Bills.

Bills owner Ralph Wilson didn’t fire Jauron this week, and tried to dampen the speculation that a change could happen during the season.  At least right now.

“[Sunday] was so bad that it’s hard to make a decision right now,”
Wilson said Monday  “I’m not going to make any decisions during the middle of the
season right now. At least right now.”

A Buffalo News poll showed that 90 percent of Bills fans want Jauron fired, and there were similar results to a poll at the end of last season.

Wilson tried to make light of the situation.

“They can’t do this to me much longer,” Wilson joked during the same week he turns 91 years old. “There’s not much I can
say about yesterday except it was awful.”

Wilson must balance his fanbase’s bloodlust with the knowledge that canning his coach, a supremely decent man by all accounts, isn’t likely to help this injury-ravaged team during the 2009 season.  Wilson was asked if Jauron was safe for the rest of the year.

“I don’t know. I’ll tell you what. Whatever I say now is going to be
twisted around. If I say exactly what I think, whether it’s right or
wrong, it’s going to be twisted around, so I just don’t want to talk
about it [further].”

This is all a publicity stunt. Limbaugh does not have the cash. He will be as much of an owner of the Rams as all those goofy celebrities are owners of the Dolphins.
It is one thing to have a disposable 10 or 20 million on hand but 500 million to a billion is some serious money.

Panic in Buffalo (Ode to Dick Jauron)
    Hang the blessed DJ
Because the way the Bills constantly play
On the Kaisertown side-streets that you slip down
    University Heights you jog ’round
Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ
Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ, Hang the DJ
HANG THE DJ, HANG THE DJ, HANG THE DJ

The real shame is that changing coaches at this point is arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Looks good, but the end result is the same.
Start from the top. Wilson needs to hire a new GM, then, let the GM hire a real coach. (Wonder if Bill Parcells would take on that task?)
A guy I graduated from HS with played for the Bills during their SB years. I’ll bet he cringes when he sees them now. I know I sure do.

SELL THE DAMN TEAM RALPH!!! I’d rather root for the Bills in another city than put up with this junior varsity crap any longer. It may be partially injuries, it may be partially coaching, it may be partially a lack of talented players… but this disgrace of a team owes the majority of its problems to inadequate ownership… since 1960. Sell the damn team Ralph, and end this misery! The game has passed you by!

Only 90%!!!! I’d better go vote.
His approval rating on ESPN is 2% and dropping.
I don’t think Wilson gets that if his team stinks he loses more money then he does by keeping a LAME DUCK COACH!

Ralph Wilson please buy a clue! You need to sit Dick Jauron down in your office and show him the door.
Get an early start to the rebuilding process.

Ralph does need to sell the team and hopefully it stays in Buffalo. But why own a team if you dont try to win? It starts with management. Ralph said early in offseason we need to make the playoffs this year. So what do the bills do? Let go of they’re best OL J.Peters. And bring in all these LB’s in offseason, but keep Ellison as a starter who wouldnt make any other teams 2nd string. Its called being cheap. Cheap is the word for the coaching in Buffalo too..Greg Williams, Mularkey, no interviews to big names, and now this guy. Jauron should have been fired last year the second ralph and his gang realized McDaniels was going to be a head coach (they may still not have noticed)..which was fairly obvious early on last season, and yes the OC for the team that beat you 14 STRAIGHT! mighta been smart huh? Ralph needs to be asked, Hey SIR why havent you hired a real coach with experience, expertise, and LIFE!!!! or even interviewed or talked about ever getting one. DONT let another mcdaniels slip by!
so RALPH you have two options from all bills fans:
    1. fire jauron now, hire an interim, and immediately begin to beg Gruden, CHIN (cowher), or Holmgren to come in for next year. Clear house and run the whole ship. No questions asked Ralph.
    2. sell the team to someone who cares and never come back to or mention buffalo again.
update: 2 is winning by 90% of the vote

I hope I can be as sharp as Ralph when I’m 91.

ralph has messed this entire team up for the last 10 years. his problem is that he has no real football guys in place to run this team. the gm was promoted from a marketing position. think about that. without football guys in place to run the program you end up drafting the wrong guys, and that has been evident for a while now.

slutnuts you’re right (never thought I’d write that sentence).
EVERY move they’ve made is to sell jerseys and tickets. They don’t care about winning. The stadium is sold out for the season and they sold plenty of TO jerseys.
Somebody tell them that WINNING sells better than all that. It sells playoff home games, national sponsorship, and tons more merchandise!!
