When Washington plays its sixth straight winless team Sunday, it will do so without their best offensive lineman.
Tackle Chris Samuels will miss the game because of a neck injury he suffered early against the Panthers.
“He got an MRI. He’s been playing with a Stenosis, which is a narrowing
[of the spine],” coach Jim Zorn said Monday. “He got popped and he got some tingling and we’re
just checking this out.”
Asked about Samuels’ long-term prognosis, Zorn said, “We’re still working through that.”
Ugh.
Stephon Hayer, a weak right tackle, will move to the left side.
Reclamation projection Mike Williams will play at right tackle, and
Chris Cooley will be stuck blocking more often. They are also without
right guard Randy Thomas for the season
In Washington’s preseason power ranking article (they were No. 22), we noted how the Redskins were gambling with a thin offensive line that could get old all at once. We said that Samuels was the key to the team, because they didn’t have a suitable replacement and the offense could crumble without him.
The offense has crumbled with Samuels, so we’re not sure what happens next.
florio picked these guys for the super bowl, credibility, gone. how the hell could he pick these guys?? wow.
And this was Florio’s Super Bowl pick….HA!

Same thing that ended Irvin’s career.
That smell aint your women cooking Mike.
Can we let Zorn fill in? Better yet, let’s fire Zorn and have Campbell as the QB, QB Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Head Coach… or better yet, get rid of him too and have Clinton Portis as RB, QB and the rest of the above!
Ok, not saying Samuels won’t be missed because the Skins’ line is bad, but Samuels got beat a couple of times, once for a sack, by perhaps the worst DE in the NFL, Gaines Adams. Adams hasn’t had but one sack in the last 10+ games, against Chris Samuels, and in that one sack, Adams, the proverbially sissy, bullrushed Samuels into Campbell for the takedown… ouch!
