With kicker Garrett Hartley back from a four-game suspension, the Saints needed to make a roster move for him.
And instead of cutting the other kicker on the roster, they opted instead to bounce rookie quarterback Chase Daniel.
They’ll keep John Carney, who has done well in Hartley’s absence.
“I think John Carney has done a great job; he brings
a lot to the table with his experience,” coach Sean Payton said last week, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Carney has made six of seven kicks; the one that was missed was blocked in Week One.
Hartley, a rookie in 2008, tested positive for Adderall, which he claimed he took so that he could stay away on a drive from Dallas to New Orleans.
Daniel was elevated from the practice squad when receiver Lance Moore, the emergency quarterback, was injured. If he clears waivers, Daniel likely will be re-signed to the practice squad.
Busted, down on Bourbon Street,
set up, like a bowlin’ pin.
Knocked down, it gets to wearin’ thin
they just wont let you be, oh no.
He took Adderall to “stay away”. You stay tight Florio!
Chase Daniel is a booger-eating product of the proud MizzeryU. He sucks, his former teammates suck, his alma mater sucks. He is a wannabe thug who is gonna end up pumping gas to help pay for his meth addiction.
Hey Brat,
Good job of hiding your hostility. Bet he boffed your girlfriend while you were passed out at a party at Mizzery U.
I like to stay away from Dallas to New Orleans too (Sounds like a plot line from Easy Rider).
“Daniel was elevated from the practice squad when receiver Lance Moore, the emergency quarterback, was injured”
grammar-check fail
Who cares about grammar? This is a football forum not an egghead symposium.
I’m glad Payton didn’t cut Carney again.
He’s proven he can still help the saints.
