Seau rejoins Pats

It was reported last week that the Patriots would re-sign linebacker Junior Seau this week.

And, reportedly, they have.

Though the move has not been announced by the team, it has been announced by VERSUS, the cable channel that will be airing Seau’s show, Sports Jobs With Junior Seau.

News of the news from VERSUS comes from Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald.

It will be Seau’s 20th NFL season, and his fourth season with the Patriots.

Seriously Mike? All you have to do is skim over it before you post. Not that hard.

If that had more than one period, it would appear you died mid-sentence.

This goes to how you how bare the cupboards are at LB this time of year. Quality depth is a real issue in the NFL today.

he may be 40, but he sure as hell doesnt look like it. he should help right away with dealing with the tennessee running game. like you said florio, they are the best 0-5 team maybe ever, and they can run the ball. welcome back junior.

Ah yes, VERSUS. I remember when I could watch that channel…before DirecTV dropped it from the lineup in a spat like the NFL Network went through.
Too bad not as many people care about the NHL and VERSUS will lose their “tier adjustment” attempt.

Oh, that’s that channel that we can’t get on satellite, right? They said that Comcast was charging too much.

This should have been Seau’s last foray in the NFL.

And if you really believe the last part of that statement your a moron.
He is being brought in for depth and veteran leadership, not to be a starter.

So – he retires in 2006 from San Diego. Then signs with the Patriots a few days later. Then, “retires” after 2008 season. And now is playing again.
Where is the uproar? How dare someone keep changing his mind?

When Kyle Orton dissects your defense you tend to overreact. He looked so horrible in Chicago and all. The problem is that the bears suck not Kyle Orton.

Beelichick will trade Tom Brady to the bills for their 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks, he will get no protection and everyoen will say he’s not a good QB anymore.

  23. hayward giablommi says: Oct 13, 2009 3:34 PM

    @ zygi milf
Seau also played for Miami for about 4 years before he retired after the 2005 season Before returning with New England.
Now, he retired after the 2007 season, and had the outcome of SB42 been different, he would not have played again. The Patriots wanted him back late in 2008 since they were decimated by injury, and this year their future franchise LB is out and they are devoid of veteran leadership on defense.
To your point- he’s never held a team hostage, he’s never demanded to have a say in personal decisions and he’s never forced his way off of and onto rosters because of perceived slights and/or personal vendettas. The guy is playing for a Super Bowl ring, nothing more, nothing less.

When he gets injured Bruschi can come back, as we all know he will.

  25. StevieMo says: Oct 13, 2009 3:51 PM

Clearly, McDaniels was the key to Brady being Brady, and to Cassel being Almost Brady last year.
Now Orton looks more like Brady and Brady looks more like….well, not Brady.
When it comes to calling plays and to getting the most out of QB’s, Belichick is no McDaniels. That’s why the Patriots are so-so at this point.

Have you seen the shape this guy is in ? If you are half his age and in perfect shape he could still snap you in half. You can only hope you’re in half as good condition as he’s in when you’re 40.

Sorry little Timmy, I did not know I was being graded
let’s play your game, why are they going nowhere?
I would like to know what this is based on after only 5 games

“Seahawk.” Before you chime in and try to sound intelligent, read it again and you will find out why I’m laughing at you! What a typical seahawk fan.
As for the Pats fan davis1281 asking, “Why are they going nowhere?” That would be a great question to ask Bill Belichick.

    @ Tim
Belichick did not say it, you did.
So again i will ask YOU, what is that based on?
You don’t have to answer, it probably would not be valid or intelligent.

  33. Tim says: Oct 14, 2009 12:43 PM

But it would be funny. Like “seahawk’s” inability to comprehend a written conversation.
What’s this: “Belichick did not say it, you did.”? I quoted YOUR question and then responded. What’s the matter with you?
