Tell you what, DH, you put a little more focus towards your on field effort and maybe down the road you can offer your two cents. Guy has had a couple of moments in the year he's been in D.C. and he's taken over as resident spokesman?
Wasn't that long ago you were laughed out of Oakland for getting toasted weekly. Shut your hole and learn to tackle. Thanks for punctuating the fact that most of the Redskins are so full of themselves, and think they play well enough to speak provocatively. Stop and look around, fellas. Truth is, the lot of you lack talent. And/or the brains to know it. What a joke.

Hall is the most overrated cornerback in the NFL. Every year he has several interceptions but that it because he takes way too many chances and is burned more than most cornerbacks. Also, he is a terrible tackler look back to week one on Mario Manningham's sideline touchdown. All Hall had to do was bump him out of bounce but he completely ran in front of Manningham and just tried to slap him out of bounce. He must have been talking about himself when criticizing the personnel moves. I would feel sorry for skins fans if they weren't such ignorant homers.

@AutumnWind999
You may be right in the sense that Hall was very poor in coverage skills in Oakland. And as a Raiders fan, can you tell me anyone on that team really plays inspired? But as a Redskins, he has been our best DB. He can catch the ball, something our other DBs cant do, and he has done a solid job covering. Do remember though, a pass rush is equally important to a DBs cover skills. Give a QB all day, and he picks you apart. Overall though as a Redskins, Hall has been good. He just cant tackle. Damn you Jake Delhomme for embarrassing him!!!!

The Raiders personell decisions are the only ones in the NFL that are always worse than the Redskins. Hall was cut because he was paid a ton and the defense in Oakland was bad anyways. Hall is a solid cover man, actually can catch an interception (unlike Carlos Rogers) but had issues tackling, just ask Jake Delhomme.
----------------------------
I'm sorry but any Raiders fan who reads "Hall is a solid cover man," is going to need oxygen to recover from their out of control laughter.
First game of the year last season, rookie WR Eddie Royal single-handedly torched Hall for something like 170 yards. It was embarrassing. It wasn't one or two big catches. It was Hall getting burned on just about every play for a first-down pickup. And it wasn't a one game aberration. Hall was the weak link week after week on Oakland's D and the coverage improved dramatically when Chris Johnson took over opposite Nnamdi.
Hall was picked apart so badly that the Raiders had to cut their losses and dump him after 8 games and let go of the $8 million he was guaranteed.
The reality is the Raiders ask their corners to play straight man coverage 99% of the time. Lack of coverage skills can be covered up in a zone scheme. When you play man to man all the time it shows when you can't cover.
Funny thing is Shanahan (AKA the next coach of the Redskins) must have known Hall couldn't cover in a man to man sceheme because his strategy from Down 1 in that 2008 opening game was to go after Hall. Interesting to see how long MeAngelo is on the 'Skins roster after Shanahan lands in D.C.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Haynesworth's ridiculous contract. Talk about eating up cash and cap space.
________________________________
I have said it before, and I will say it again. Hayneworths contract is for $60 Million guarenteed (and of course football contracts arent really guarenteed). He will not fulfill that contract to be paid the entire $100 Million. And even, if by some miracle, he stays healthy and productive (hes been pretty good this year), there wont be a cap in 2 years anyways.

I agree with the commenters much more than Florio. The root of the problem is the FO, and it is twofold:
1) Personnel: They've ignored the 5 person unit called an O-line for YEARS. (something like 2 draft picks in 5 years, and highest pick was a 3rd.) It is pretty accepted conventional wisdom that your lines are the base of your units, and if the base is weak, everything built on the base will suffer.
2) Attracting a good coach. With Synder's backing of Cerrato, and Cerrato's horrific track record, why would a good, established coach go to Washington? They know it is a setup to fail. That's why Zorn got bumped to HC, and that's why the rumors are swirling that people like Shanahan and Holmgren have conditions that give them control over personnel, which Danny won't agree to. So they'll fire Zorn and struggle to find another brand-name HC.
As a 25+ year Redskin fan, it is infuriating.

Wasn't this guy blown out of Oakland because he stunk??? The Raiders cut him, and he questions somebody elses talent??
_______________________________
The Raiders personell decisions are the only ones in the NFL that are always worse than the Redskins. Hall was cut because he was paid a ton and the defense in Oakland was bad anyways. Hall is a solid cover man, actually can catch an interception (unlike Carlos Rogers) but had issues tackling, just ask Jake Delhomme. And in Halls defense, the Redskins offense was NOT going to tie or win that game with no timeouts. Campbell has NEVER driven down the field to win a game in the fourth quarter, not once. The difference between 2-3 and 4-1 is the O Line, and any Skins fan knows that. It is bad. And we cannot win with a mediocre QB, mediocre WRs, over the hill running back, and no offensive line. But coaching is huge too. We keep running off tackle instead of up the middle behind Rabach and Dockery (the only O Lineman that aren't worthless). We keep calling stupid plays at the wrong time. Cooley is blocking becuz he can block, unlike Davis and Yoder. But none of it is enough. Every NFC East team has DEs than can rush, and we may only win 6 games this year, maybe. Nice pick Florio, and you picked them after the draft (how do you not notice no offense line like every newspaper and fan in DC noticed...).

But maybe they wouldn't be lacking in depth if Hall had taken less than $23 Million guaranteed in February. That way, the Redskins would have had more cash and cap space available to acquire better personnel at key backup positions.
---------------------------------------------
Jesus Florio, it is hard to defend you when you make a statement like that. First of all, it starts up top. Anyone who has followed the Redskins for years knows that they have no depth. They had no depth last year before they signed Haynesworth and resigned Hall. So pointing the finger at Hall for "Accepting" the offer presented to him by Snyder/Vinny makes no sense. Fact is, Snyder has traded pick after pick away over the years. So they lost the opportunity to build depth. They overpaid a number of free-agents over the years (which they are still doing) who have been either busts or past their prime. Thus eliminating much needed cap space. Then Snyder/Vinny hire a QB's coach, who has never been an offensive coordinator as their head coach. So to me, the blame lies mainly on Snyder and Vinny. Hell, Vinny has been stealing paychecks for years. If he wasn't Snyder's personal assistant, he would be gone. But I guess Danny boy needs his coffee and dry-cleaning. Truth is Zorn needs to be fired. He is just not ready to be a head coach. I believe he has potential as a Coordinator down the road, but he still has a lot to learn and experience. And some of the players have stopped playing with heart and determination. It is a sad time to be a Redskins fan. And it is a trickling down effect from the incompetence of the people at the top. AND THAT is why they will never draw a big name coach to clean up that mess. What a shame that a once proud franchise has come down to this. They are not the Raiders of the East Coast, but they are not working on it.

The problem with the D is on the coaches... they've got the individual talent but it's up to the coaches to put them in positions to succeed. This team can't stop anyone if their life depends on it. That's on the coaches.
Now the O... that's on the FO. Zorn has wanted to install a WCO from the start. That offense is about getting as many receivers out as possible for the QB to throw to. In the "Midwest CO", there's also a strong running game. The only way both of these can happen is if there are BIG guys upfront to allow for 3/4 WR sets and to make holes for the RBs to run through.
This offseason the coaching staff said the OLine was the biggest reason for the 2-6 end to the season... but what did the FO do? They signed Dockery to replace Kendall (who by the way isn't on the team right now and is waiting for the FO to call him).... and nothing else.
On the D side, they signed the top two D players available in FA and drafted 4 defensive players (out of the 6 draft picks they had) with their first 4 picks.
Don't blame Zorn... he was set up to fail.

The offensive line is offensive..................................that's the problem start to finish. They overpay for alleged stars, and ignore the one thing that they really need. look at the great teams of the past- it always starts with a dominant offensive line.
Snyder and Cerrato should be fired, then worry about who's coaching or playing QB.
So what will they do? Sign Jevon Kearse and let go of Carlos Rogers, fire Zorn and bring in maybe Mike Vick or someone at Qb......................idiots..............
