Mendenhall illness could open the door for Parker

Steelers running back Willie Parker has missed two games with a toe injury.  In his absence, 2008 first-rounder Rashard Mendenhall has stepped in and stepped up, raising concerns that Parker might not have a job upon returning to health.

But Parker has practiced each of the last two days, and Mendenhall missed Thursday’s practice due to an illness.

Mendenhall reportedly has flu-like symptoms, and he’s expected to practice on Friday.

The identity of the ball carrier who gets the most touches is expected to be determined at game time on Sunday, when the Browns come to town.

The best news for the Steelers is that the safety Troy Polamalu (knee) has fully participated in practice for a second straight day, and he is expected to return to action for the first time since September 10, the first game of the regular season.

Not good….Mendy is much the better runner. If he can start..START HIM. Use #39 only if you have too…
BTW…take the over in the game. The Steelers will score 40 points by themselves
    Steelers 42
    Brownies 6 (two field goals)

This would happen. Now Arians has his (somewhat) legit excuse to give Parker back the starting job. When will he understand that Parker does not fit into this offense? Now that we’re consisently throwing 30-40 times a game, there is simply no room for a RB that can’t catch or block.

Good. I want Palamalu on the field so there’s no excuses when the Browns upset Pittsburgh this weekend. Swing on that you fatass mullettheads!

Mendenhall could have a staff infection. oh yeah! He doesn’t PLAY FOR Cleveland….he IS PLAY-ING Cleveland.
What is the streak now for the Steelers vs. the Browns @ now? 11 soon to be 12?
Still waiting for that Browns team that I heard about prior to last season that was going to overtake the Steelers.

He’s got the flu not the Black Plague … jeez. Mendy’s startin’ write it down. Will not be an easy game Brownies will be fired up. If they had somebody to throw to they might even have a shot.

Mendenhall has been such a solid rb since what, last week? Hope this illness doesn’t prevent him from having his second good game.

Well, lookie here… another tomato can for the Squealers to play on that cream puff schedule of theirs.
They should crush Cleveland like an old beer can.
But cheer up, Browns fans. Your team only needs to play a little bit better than the sorry-arse Lions did last week and your team will win.
Too bad you aren’t at home for this game. The Squealers get all the close calls ruled (right or wrong) in their favor at home so your team will have to beat both Zittsburgh AND the refs.
Good luck, I’ll be rooting for you… at least for this week.

I’d say it must suck to be YOU because it is getting quite obvious that (judging by all your homer comments) a sports team filled with a bunch of pampered millionaires is far and away the most important thing in your life.
That’s sad, really. Believe or not, there’s more to life than the Pittsburgh Steelers… no, don’t go into shock now. I’m serious.
I’m telling the truth. The world would still keep on turning, even if the Pittsburgh Steelers ever ceased to exist.

This is for those people who cant stand the browns and love to make fun of them. They might be bad but we still hate them!!!
Q: What do you call 47 millionaires around a TV watching the Super Bowl?
    A: The Cleveland Browns.
Q: What do the Cleveland Browns and Billy Graham have in common?
A: They both can make 70,000 people stand up and yell “Jesus Christ”.
Q: How do you keep a Cleveland Browns out of your yard?
    A: Put up goal posts.
Q: Where do you go in Cleveland in case of a tornado?
A: To The Browns Stadium – they never get a touchdown there!
Q: What do you call a Cleveland Brown with a Super Bowl ring?
    A: A thief.
Q: Why doesn’t Canton have a professional football team? A: Because then Cleveland would want one.
Q: What’s the difference between the Cleveland Browns
    and a dollar bill?
A: You can still get four quarters out of a dollar bill.
Q: How many Cleveland Browns does it take to win a Super Bowl?
A: Nobody knows and we may never find out!
Q: What do the Cleveland Browns and possums have in common?
A: Both play dead at home and get killed on the road!

    lol!
So, all of us “haters” are supposedly “gay”, eh?
This coming from a homer fan of a team that has NO cheerleading squad and when the team felt obligated to give their fans someone to help them cheer for the team, they gave the fans “Steely McBeam” instead of a bunch of half-naked hot babes shaking their fannies and their pom-poms.
    lol!
How gay is that? Your team doesn’t want any ”icky” girls cheering for them. (After all, girls got ”cooties”, right?) So let’s bring in “Steely McBeam” instead… like that move doesn’t just scream “candy-ass” for the whole world to hear.
    lol!
Don’t EVEN try to label anyone elses fan base as being “gay” when your own team isn’t manly enough to have a cheerleader squad full of hotties rooting for them. If having a mascot as dopey as “Steely McBeam” isn’t fruity as hell, Lord knows what else is…

It would seem by all the time and energy you put into this site and specifically Steelers related stories, that they (the Steelers) are just as important to you as they are to us (Steelers fans), just for different reasons.
Just imagine all the things you could do if you didn’t hover over this site, with your extremely juvenile wit, just waiting to pounce on anything Steelers related. You and Vox seem more obsessed with the Steelers than most of the regular Steelers fans around here…that is what’s really sad lol.

I put in (at the most) 30 minutes total a day here. I dare say that’s far less than some of you homers do.
I don’t need to “hover” around here. The stupid comments you homers post are just waiting for me to rip on whenever I get a free moment to look at them. That’s the beauty of this place.
And one more thing, it doesn’t take too much of my time (as I said earlier) and as far as using a lot of my energy, I really don’t have to. See, you homers make it only too easy for me to do what I do so well. I can rip on the Squealers so effortlessly I don’t even break a sweat. All I have to do is read all the myopic comments you blind homers post and my responses back almost write themselves…
