Vick on the Oakland roster would have just been more proof that you can’t throw a bunch of athletes on the field and expect to win. It’s been a huge problem in Oakland for years, and it also explains San Diego’s lack of success. Denver flushed their roster, and turned things around so fast their fans are now pretending they believed all along.

And it’s absolutely true that the serial killer of defenseless animals named Mike Vick only has remorse for GETTING CAUGHT. Over a 6 year period he tortured and sadistically electrocuted, drowned, beat to death for his personal entertainment defenseless non-violent animals. This didn’t happen once as a “mistake”, it was a pattern of behavior that was performed over & over & over & over. This is the issue the Vick defenders refuse to talk about.

I think Dungy lost some respect for making these comments, why did he feel it was necessary to say that? Vick was not pursed by the Raiders so there was no reason to advice him not to go to the Raiders.
Why doesn’t Dungy tell us which other teams were also on the no list? I’m sure there were a few other teams.
And I agree, Vick’s comments are full of baloney and he is just saying that so he doesn’t get the big hit if he gets a chance to play.

There is little doubt in my mind that even if Vick didn’t bet on NFL games himself that his wildly erratic QB rating had to do with shaving points so his buddies could win bets.
Should never have been allowed back in the NFL for this reason alone. The NFL shuns gambling as it should (unless its the Rooneys), and did not even address this or his having tested positive for weed while he was awaiting trial.

I think Vick would of accepted going to the Raiders, but i dont know if the Raiders wanted him, the team i think Vick should of asked about was the Panthers and Redskins, there he could backup with a better chance to start, now with the Eagles, he wont see the field, McNabb is great and Kolb is the future.

In his written plea, Vick admitted helping kill six to eight pit bulls and supplying money for gambling on the fights. He said he did not personally place any bets or share in any winnings, but merely associating with gambling can result in a lifetime ban under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
I still don’t get why Mike Vick didn’t get a lifetime ban for this.

Do you really think he gets fed time if he isn’t caught fighting dogs? Were the investigators at his house in VA before this all blew up looking for dog carcasses or proof of interstate gambling? Vick would have taken the opportunity that paid him the most money and gave him the best opportunity to play. He doesn’t care about about how other QB’s feel and there is no reason to take him at his word about anything. Having done his time is not an excuse to all of a sudden believe in his sincerity. He has his second chance, but if he wants any credibility, he needs to earn it.

I would not blame Vick (for anything other than animal abuse) for going to any team that would have taken the risk to sign him…..Oakland, Cleveland, et al. Sign with whoever was willing to give him the opportunity regardless of where. Injuries do happen in the NFL. The atmosphere and controversy surrounding Vick’s future playing in the NFL was not supportive at all. Threatened demonstrations etc. I say the man screwed up big time, paid the price and hopefully will be a better person as a result. He now deserves the opportunity to earn a living the best way he knows which is in the NFL right now.
