Seau will get $1.145 million

Patriots linebacker Junior Seau, just signed for his fourth tour of duty with the team, will get $1.145 million in base salary for his one-year deal, according to the Boston Herald.

The veteran’s minimum for a player with at least ten years of service is $845,000, so the Patriots were relatively generous with the offer.

There is no veteran’s minimum for 20-year veterans.

Rosenthal (more Florio)……where’s all the b.s. about Seau coming back for his 4th time……..you have made a living off of Favre and his “i’m back, i’m retired”…..like i have said in previous posts, it is YOU, the media that has created the Favre circus, not Brett Favre and the Seau re-signing is further proof of that. It isn’t as big of news with Seau, so you the media don’t make it headlines and don’t keep writing/talking/blogging about it like you do Favre. It wouldn’t be as interesting to your readers if you did the 24hr bitch about Seau and you recognize that however you also recognize that sensationalizing the Favre ordeal brings readers to your site………….but then you complain that Favre is a diva etc……… talk about talking out of both sides of your mouth and feeding the fire but then blame it all on Favre!!

Cool for Seau, he is an unique athlete.
Someday – in about 10 or 15 years – he may not want to play for the Pats again and when they look around there will probably be some linebackers who didnt get to play for the Pats because as young players, they got pushed back every mid-season to make room for Grandpa Seau.
    They should all be pro-bowlers.

Is that money over 16 games? Or does he get that to play just 11?
