Adams not expected to be active for Bears

Defensive end Gaines Adams isn’t expected to make his Bears debut against the Falcons on Sunday night, according to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune.

This isn’t particularly surprising news,. Adams, acquired in a trade with the Bucs for a second-round pick on Friday, won’t even arrive in Chicago until Saturday morning and the Bears will be heading to Atlanta later in the day. Even with similarities between the defensive schemes in Tampa and Chicago, there’s going to be some transition time before he’s ready to step into the lineup.

When Adams passes his physical, the Bears will have to make a roster move to clear space for him on the roster. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times looks at the likeliest suspects to be sent packing, a list that includes 2009 draft picks Juaquin Iglesias and D.J. Moore as well as defensive tackle Matt Toeaina who may be expendable now that the team has 10 other defensive linemen.

Nice of you to let the rest of the crew sleep in this morning, Josh.
Now, could you please update us on the status of Brett Favre’s swine flu and/or polio?

Bears GM Angelo collects defensive linemen like Matt Millen collected wide receivers.
With Brown and Ogun contracts coming up he seems to be a replacement for either.
