Jeremy Maclin opened eyes last week with his six catch, 142-yard, two-touchdown performance against Tampa Bay. And it wouldn’t be surprising if two of the eyes he opened belonged to teammate Kevin Curtis.
Maclin, a rookie out of Missouri, took advantage of Curtis’ absence against Tampa. This week, with Curtis again questionable thanks to a left knee injury, Maclin’s got another chance to impress, this time against the Raiders.
Meanwhile, Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg did give a nod to Curtis’ job security if not his starting spot.
“We’ll see what happens with Kevin,” Mornhinweg said. ”He’s such a fine football player; we’ll find some places for him.”
on both of those TD catches Maclin made a great adjustment to the ball. He’s not just fast, he’s turning into a real WR. He and Fraction Jackson are going to make a hell of a tandem.
Slow Saturday, huh?
Just think, if Maclin ran .10 faster he would’ve been a Raider and therefore a bust.
he’s no Roy Williams……..you know the assclown, who the Arlington Cowchokes gave up all those draft picks for…….
Curtis was a slot receiver in St. Louis and that’s pretty much his best role, playing against nickel backs. Now that the Eagles finally seem to have two WRs that are better than him (in McNabb’s what, 10th or 11th season?) he can play in the spot he’s best suited for. Except for the fact that Jason Avant is a better slot receiver than he is, too. So now Curtis is in the Greg Lewis role.
sooo many playmakers…dmac, djack, jmac, shady mccoy, celek, westbrook. can’t wait ’til we paly a real D, like the Giants.
“Maclin, a rookie out of Missouri, took advantage of Curtis’ absence against Tampa. ”
Interesting. So first round pick Maclin took advantage of Curtis’ absence, but undrafted Miles Austin took advantage of bad tackling.
I timed it, Cobra. Sixty seconds to the minute; just like last Saturday.
I cant believe all the bragging about a mediocre offense. Cowboys receivers are more productive than the eagirls receivers. and dmac will for sure be hurt or throwing up on his cleats before week 12.
tony romo couldn’t carry mcnabb’s cleats, with or without throwup on them.
who cares about maclin he wasn’t that good in college….miles austin kid you watch him become the next superstar in the nfl because of how romo will develop him. maclin doesn’t deserve a story he is a bust. in my humbled opinion give me hurd crayton and austion any day over jackson maclin and curtis maybe it’s just me…

The Chiefs DBs missed tons of tackles. Almost all of Austin’s YAC came from missed tackles, which is the same way he scored his touchdowns, too. Maclin was open in the endzone. There’s a difference when a rookie receiver flat out beats a DB and when a receiver runs short and medium patterns and gets past some sloppy tackling. Granted, Maclin did beat the Bucs secondary, but it’s a great performance for a rookie nonetheless. I’m not saying Austin didn’t have a good perfrormance, but he was helped A LOT by the Chiefs’ pure inability to tackle. You could see them missing easy tackles when the Giants and Eagles played them, too.
Romo is just getting started, and now he has found his #1 receiver in miles austin roy williams will just have to be a very expensive #2. Philly wishes they had just one of the cowboy RBs. And with TEs like witten and bennett, I think the cowboys are gonna take off after this bye week.
“We’ll see what happens with Kevin,” Mornhinweg said. “He’s such a fine football player; we’ll find some places for him.”
Translation: Kevin sure as hell isn’t ever starting another game for the Eagles as long as Maclin is healthy….
“miles austin kid you watch him become the next superstar in the nfl because of how romo will develop him. ”
miles austin career stats without kansas city game. 41 games played, 23 receptions, 435 yds, 4 tds, 4 fumbles…..
settle down calling him the “next superstar”. there are tons of guys that have good games against the chiefs. isn’t he the receiver that romo failed to connect with twice at the end of the denver game. i wonder why? oh yeah, champ bailey can actually play defense.
i’m not saying he’s not going to be good, i’m not saying he is. but call it what it actually is. a good game against a bad team.
Amazed … “sooo many playmakers…dmac, djack, jmac, shady mccoy, celek, westbrook. can’t wait ’til we paly a real D, like the Giants.”
nice…
Relax Dallas Cowboys fan…your team is guaranteed NOT to lose this week!! You can’t say that very often…especially with the upcoming schedule!
“Could Maclin’s move to Curtis’ spot be permanent?”
Duh…did you see the game?
wow, talk about a flat out delusional dallas cowgirls fan saying dallas has better receivers than the eagles…..by the way has tony romo ever won a game in december ???
Why would the Eagles want one of the Cowboys RBs? If there was one, it would b Choice since he is the only one that is not hurt every week. We already have Westbrook, why would we need a couple of injury prone pussies like Felix and Barbar. Jerry Jones called Barber the pussy, so I guess I will believe him.
Romo With Game:

It is just you…and maybe Mr Lonely (Vox).
All you eagirl fans are ridiculous, last year was your last chance, cowboys are on their way up and eagirls on their way down. You havent said one positive thing about your team, just negative about other teams, cuz there’s nothing to brag about, even with barber and felix jones hurt they have still been more productive than your sorry ass RBs, and your overall leading recever is a TE. Either mcnabb has been checking down a lot, orrrrrr, oh yeah, he’s been hurt like always, mcnabb is and will always be soft. He just about cried after his first game with vick on the field sharing a very limited amount of snaps.

He has a great game against a crappy team. He does merit watching as a potential star. Afterall, those tackles didn’t break themselves. though I don’t think it will matter once: A. they play better defenses that will chase Romo and B. if teams think he is that good they will plan for it.
There is some real bad homerism with you Cowboys fans. I mean lets be serious here. Jackson is better than any receiver on the Cowboys roster period. The Eagles WR’s are a better core than the Cowboys. The RB debate is a push basically because Jones and Barber keep getting hurt and the Eagles don’t run as much. Witten is a better TE than Celek, but Celek is quickly rising to a potential Pro-Bowl status.
This is just my opinion so please try not to come at me with a childish response.
@Ballz_Deep
that is you opinion, and of course your gonna see it that way cuz you’re an eagirls fan, but seriously, both teams are about the same right now so for you to say that philly is sooo much better is childish, i guarantee the cowboys will have a better season than philly. Romo is on the rise, you seem to forget he is just starting his 3rd season as a starting QB, he puts up numbers, and I think this will be his year. watch
