To Mr. Humble:
Do you not have anything more intelligent to offer other than the same old tired worn out racist card?
If you spent one week listening to Mr. Limbaugh, you would know that he is not a racist nor is he a Marxist or Communist as is your President.
This site should be all football, with that being said, why would a "racist" wish to own a business that will put millions of dollars into an industry that is 70%+ African-American?
By the way Mr. Humble, where is affirmative action in all of this? Why are there little or no Hispanics in the NFL? Why are there NO Asians?
Mr. Humble, you sir are a confirmed MORON.
Call your mother to come get you, you are done.

Everyone who injects Race into that statement does not prove Rush is a racist. In fact, you merely indicate that it is you who may have racist tendencies. Why is it the first thing you think of when someone mentions A Blood or a Crypt is a minority? When Rush was talking about gang warfare, why did you immediately think of minorities.
Fact: The NFL is not composed solely of minorities. It was white players and black players and others...
Furthermore, if you bothered to take his whole statement into context, you would see that he was referring to violence on and off the field being a problem. A sentiment that commissioner Goodell agress with. Is Mr. Goodell a racist too?

Because he said THOSE racist things.
_______________
My dear Ocelot...
Comments like the above are simple observations!
The NFL DOES look like a war between 2 gangs.
The high numbers of convicted felons, drug abusers etc is closer to a gang than say a choir.
<b>Is the comment racist because the crips and bloods are black?</b>
Sorry, Ocelot, but deal with the truth!
The facts are that blacks cannot take criticism without screaming racism...
The truth will always win out...

So what is the definition of "Racist"? The word is bantied about a lot, but everyone seems to use it as they wish.
I have been called a racist by a man I invited into my workplace so that he might gain enough experience to get a job with the company I worked for, I invited him nto my home, let him use my pickup, invited him to my church, fishing afterwards, and two days later he calls me a racist. To me a racist would not want anone of the other race to succeed, would not be friendly with them, etc.
He seemed to define racist as anyone who was not a Democrat. I couldn't get him to say what he meant. What has Rush said or done to indicat that he is a "racist"? Simply admit he is not a Democrat?
So what is a racist?

So back to the Bloods & crips statement, think we are going to see florio and the rest of the MSM jump all over this left coast reporter for this column? Seems Rush would not be the only one worried about the gang mentality taking over the NFL, seems they have their own concerns about this issue. Amazing we haven't seen this article talked about or the NFL stating that they have had their own concerns.

Hand signals captured on videotape are once again being scrutinized around the NFL. Only this time, it's not the New England Patriots studying them for a competitive advantage, but league officials in search of a more sinister message.
The NFL, concerned that some players might celebrate by flashing the hand signals of street gangs, has hired experts to examine game tapes and identify the gestures.
"There have been some suspected things we've seen," said Milt Ahlerich, the league's vice president of security. "When we see it, we quietly jump on it immediately, directly with the team and the player or employee involved to cease and desist. Period."
Ahlerich says the league has long warned its players about the influence of gangs and other forms of organized crime, but that those admonishments have intensified since the 2007 killing of Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams, who was gunned down after an altercation involving known gang members.
The issue of athletes flashing signs gained national attention in April when Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics was fined $25,000 by the NBA for making "menacing gestures" as he walked toward the Atlanta Hawks' bench during a game.
While acknowledging that he wasn't "into the etymology of gestures," NBA Commissioner David Stern took immediate action after league officials examined video of the incident.
"And our decision is that there were two menacing gestures," Stern said at the time.
Speaking broadly, he added, "I guess I would say that the league is sending a message that says you're the best athletes in the world, play the game. OK? And you know what, if you get baited, don't take the bait and let's play… . We're not going to let it degenerate into something else, period."
Partly because of that episode, the NFL decided to make the identification of gang signs a point of emphasis this season, and has called on the resources of local and national authorities to learn more about gang culture.
"We were always suspicious that [gang-related hand signals] might be happening," said Mike Pereira, the NFL's vice president of officiating. "But the Paul Pierce thing is what brought it to light. When he was fined … that's when we said we need to take a look at it and see if we need to be aware of it."
NFL game officials will not be responsible for identifying gang signals but will alert league headquarters of anything unusual or suspicious they see. League executives declined to outline what action might be taken against offenders, but Pereira said, "it will be dealt with harshly. The commissioner is not going to stand for gang signals on the field."
Ahlerich does not believe the problem to be widespread in the NFL but says the league has spoken to some players about their use of hand signals. He declined to identify the players.
First-year players were counseled on the matter at the recent rookie symposium, and last year a video on the dangers of gangs was required viewing for every player in the league.
The way some players see it, there is guesswork involved, even for the experts who are studying game video.
"Guys come from all over the country, and who knows what they're really doing?" said Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Dennis Northcutt, adding he cannot remember seeing a gang gesture in his nine NFL seasons. "People have got signs for their kids, signs for their fraternities. How do you differentiate who's really throwing up gang signs?"
Northcutt gave an example.
"This is a gang sign," he said, touching his index finger to his thumb to form a squished OK sign. "But at the same time, it's a sign for a personnel group."
Pereira said the gang experts take those factors into account and are very thorough when investigating gestures that appear suspicious. They are on the lookout for "symbols, clothing, jewelry or other items that would signify an association with criminal gang enterprises," Ahlerich said.
That's not unique to the NFL and NBA, nor is it limited to professional sports.
In an e-mail, NHL spokesman Frank Brown said Tuesday his league has "a general prohibition of profane, vulgar or inappropriate gestures (i.e., the throat slash). I am not aware of there ever having been reason to employ a gang expert."
Major League Baseball doesn't study game video, but it does have a policy legislating merchandise. About a year ago, at the insistence of baseball and the New York Yankees, apparel-maker New Era pulled from the shelves Yankees' caps featuring the team's insignia emblazoned with gang colors and logos.
In college sports, the Pacific 10 Conference in 1992 instituted a rule prohibiting football players from wearing bandannas, allowing them to wear elastic skullcaps only if they were in the school's primary colors or black.
Former USC coach Larry Smith was instrumental in the formation of that rule, according to conference spokesman Jim Muldoon, and was acutely aware of gang-related issues.
Former NFL player Marcellus Wiley says he has known players to make gang signs while celebrating big plays, even if they have no direct association with those gangs.
"A lot of guys when they get into the league, they aren't actually throwing up gang signs as if they're still active gang members, or were ever gang members," said Wiley, who grew up in South Los Angeles. "But it's just like Reggie Bush wearing [the area code] 619 under his eyes. It's just kind of to symbolize where you came from."
The irony, Wiley said, is often the athlete flashing the sign was "allowed an opportunity to make it as far as we could without being approached by that lifestyle, that violence, all the stuff that went on in the neighborhood.
"We were given an access pass to get beyond those things. And then we get to the NFL and we want to be tough. We want to get to the NFL or NBA and we want to be hard, get tattoos everywhere, throw up gang signs… . And those guys know that. You don't live that lifestyle and graduate out of it.
"Where I'm from," he added, "you're not the one that wants to throw up a gang sign if you're in that neighborhood. Now, in front of millions of people on TV in the middle of the 50-yard line, who's going to attack you? Who's going to do something to you?
"But you do that on Slauson and Crenshaw and see what happens."

“A lot of guys when they get into the league, they aren’t actually throwing up gang signs as if they’re still active gang members, or were ever gang members,” said Wiley, who grew up in South Los Angeles. “But it’s just like Reggie Bush wearing [the area code] 619 under his eyes. It’s just kind of to symbolize where you came from.”
The irony, Wiley said, is often the athlete flashing the sign was “allowed an opportunity to make it as far as we could without being approached by that lifestyle, that violence, all the stuff that went on in the neighborhood.
“We were given an access pass to get beyond those things. And then we get to the NFL and we want to be tough. We want to get to the NFL or NBA and we want to be hard, get tattoos everywhere, throw up gang signs… . And those guys know that. You don’t live that lifestyle and graduate out of it.
“Where I’m from,” he added, “you’re not the one that wants to throw up a gang sign if you’re in that neighborhood. Now, in front of millions of people on TV in the middle of the 50-yard line, who’s going to attack you? Who’s going to do something to you?
“But you do that on Slauson and Crenshaw and see what happens.”

The fact is that nothing rush has ever said can be used to PROVE he is a racist. Therfore... someone had to make something up and the Mainstream Media was only too happy to jump on such inflammatory quotes. By doing so, they exposed their own incompetence.

Let's face reality. Limbaugh is a racist
First rule of racism: First person to cry "RACIST" is usually the true racist.
Ok,

And while he is an undeniably successful businessman, he is not nearly the political force that he is given credit for being.
He couldn't even convince Republicans in South Carolina not to vote for McCain, despite hammering McCain daily during the primary season.

I find the idea that somehow if someone says false and libelous things, and you don't dignify it with a response, that somehow the assertion must have some merit. Rush Limbaugh shouldn't have to waste his time denying a bunch of rubbish.
Dave Checketts apparently lied to Rush, a bunch of santimonious media types repeated the false quotes, and players acting all bent out of shape should Rush be a limited partner in a football team, and Rush Limbaugh is somehow supposed to be at fault? It is a sad day for the NFL, and all the other holier-than-thou types who arrayed themselves against Rush Limbaugh.
While I normally hate lawsuits, I hope all the perpetrators are smashed hard. If not, then this kind of character assasination will continue. That outcome will be truly sad and disgusting for our country.

Florio: I'm not very happy with you right now. This is (2) TWO times within the past week that you have made me agree with Vox....VOX!
Mother of all that is holy!?! You are now officially on my list! If it weren't for, more than a few, intelligent posters on here I'd vent more.
This is what happens when you expouse on stuff that is not inherent to football. It is on the fringe and you realize it, but post it anyway for readership. From a business persons point of view, I get it. HOWEVER, as a pseudo-business owner, you have to weigh the pro vs. con. I hope you learned a valuable lesson. I'm sure you have "other factors" to consider now (owned by NBC), but to denegrate yourself to this level......
Give me your address and I'll send over a nice bottle of scotch. It has gotten me through some tough times and I can only hope that it gets you through this one.
F'ing agreeing with Vox!?! Damn, I'm going to get my 'special' bottle of scotch now to get me through this........my weekend is shot and I hope you're happy.
I think you should do a live show in Atlanta, so you and I can have a nice conversation.....

As far as Rush goes, I do not care if the guy is a racist or not. He does not need to be a racist for me to think he is a jerk but he should be allowed to buy whatever he wants. Most of these owners are rich old white guys. I guarantee some of them are racist. Tony Dungy is about as racist as it gets and he is St. Tony in the league. If you have money, buy a team. The NFL should not worry about this crap.
I also personally do not care about the Miami situation but the post about the lyrics and stuff is an excellent point.

Funny how the media isn't breathlessly reporting the retraction ???
Of course, that is the lamest retraction ever - more like a CYA to me.
The folks at the Post-Disgrace can't help themselves. On Friday Oct. 16th, some columnist named Bill McClellan said this about Limbaugh, "Why not let him own just a few of the white players? He could own Marc Bulger and Chris Long, and maybe a couple of others. That way, if any black players were offended by anything he ever said, it would be no skin off their noses, so to speak."
Funny how all the libs saying that Rush is racist, are the ones THEMSELVES making all the racist comments. Why, one would almost think the liberal media had an "agenda" here, or something !
Let hope Burwell and McClellan are among those at the St. Louis paper to get fired over this. And then sued. I'm tired of all this lyin' a$$ liberal bull$hit about Rush. If it takes a few folks losing their life savings over it, then so be it.

It is easy to see why it took so long for the retractions to start with the high level of integrity speaking out against rush, how could anyone not think with these fellas persecuting him that it must be just as they said.
Shortly thereafter, the media elicited comments from the likes of Al Sharpton. In 1998 Mr. Sharpton was found guilty of defamation and ordered to pay $65,000 for falsely accusing a New York prosecutor of rape in the 1987 Tawana Brawley case. He also played a leading role in the 1991 Crown Heights riot (he called neighborhood Jews "diamond merchants") and 1995 Freddie's Fashion Mart riot.

Rush Limbaugh
Not to be outdone, Jesse Jackson, whose history includes anti-Semitic speech (in 1984 he referred to Jews as "Hymies" and to New York City as "Hymietown" in a Washington Post interview) chimed in. He found me unfit to be associated with the NFL. I was too divisive and worse. I was accused of once supporting slavery and having praised Martin Luther King Jr.'s murderer, James Earl Ray.
Next came writers in the sports world, like the Washington Post's Michael Wilbon. He wrote this gem earlier this week: "I'm not going to try and give specific examples of things Limbaugh has said over the years because I screwed up already doing that, repeating a quote attributed to Limbaugh (about slavery) which he has told me he simply did not say and does not reflect his feelings. I take him at his word. . . . "
Mr. Wilbon wasn't alone. Numerous sportswriters, CNN, MSNBC, among others, falsely attributed to me statements I had never made. Their sources, as best I can tell, were Wikipedia and each other. But the Wikipedia post was based on a fabrication printed in a book that also lacked any citation to an actual source.
(Source Rush)
And I dare say after reading rush in this mornings WSJ that him and Wilbon won't be doing lunch any time soon.

you must be a limbaugh fan cuz you guys are the only ones, along with florio who must love him some rush, to keep discussing this stupid shit.</i>

(Edited to update formatting so no one thinks I wrote that second idiotic sentence)
Oh, and does that mean you "love you some rush", since you can't seem to shut up about it.

Since the left is not able to operate their trickeration within the scope of truth, they create for themselves a more convenient truth that suits their agenda. Just ask Obama, who before even knowing even part of the story, said police officers "acted stupidly" in their arrest of one of Obama's cronies. Bottom line is that the left can say and do what they want and when the right exercises their rights in a similar way, they are labeled as fringe lunatic activists. You wanna know who to blame? Start with the lawyers and continue with the media.
