Shaun Cody out for Texans Sunday

The Texans won’t have starting defensive tackle Shaun Cody in the lineup when they try to slow down the NFL’s leading rusher on Sunday.

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer tweeted a short time ago that Cody, who has been battling the flu all week, has been downgraded from doubtful to out for Sunday’s game with the Bengals. That will leave the already leaky Texans run defense shorthanded as they attempt to stop Cedric Benson from adding to his yardage lead over the league’s other running backs.

According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, Frank Okam and DelJuan Robinson are the top candidates to replace Cody in the starting lineup. Both of those players were inactive last Sunday, however, while 39-year-old Jeff Zgonina, the oldest defensive player in the league [As a commenter points out, Junior Seau's signing with New England this week makes him the oldest defensive player in the league. Zgonina was the oldest player last week.], saw snaps as part of the rotation with Cody and Amobi Okoye.

I thought Junior Seau was 40? Don’t that make him the oldest defensive player in the league?

Isn’t Shawn Cody a gay website? Not that I know for sure, of course.
