Calvin Johnson, Matthew Stafford will sit out Sunday

If the Lions are going to end their long losing streak at Lambeau Field on Sunday, they’ll have to do it without either Calvin Johnson or Matthew Stafford.

There’s some confusion concerning Johnson’s status as NFL.com’s list of inactives lists him as active. The Lions themselves list the wideout as inactive, however, and unless they’re planning to run him out there in John Standeford’s jersey we’ll go with their report on this one.

What’s certain in all circles is that Stafford will be the emergency quarterback on Sunday afternoon.

On the Packers side, there’s good news and bad news for Aaron Rodgers. He’ll have Chad Clifton back protecting his blind side, but center Jason Spitz will miss the game with a back injury that popped up during practice on Friday. Scott Wells will take his place in the starting lineup with Daryn Colledge getting the call at left guard.

UPDATE: NFL.com has come around and now everyone concerned has Johnson listed as inactive.
