Michael Turner has been stuffed for much of Sunday night’s game, so the Falcons turned to his backup Jerious Norwood in the second quarter to test the edges of Chicago’s defense.
Norwood was effective (he still has more yards than Turner), but didn’t last long before injuring his hip.
NBC’s Andrea Kremer reports that Norwood will not return to the game because of a hip flexor. He’ll finish with 33 yards from scrimmage on six touches.
We’ve always wondered what Norwood could do with a bigger workload, but perhaps his coaches know his limitations best.
UPDATE: Bears linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa is out for the rest of the game with a knee injury, according to Kremer. He was carted off to locker room.
