Saints shredding the Giants

As previously mentioned, the Vikings are all over the Ravens early.  And in one of the other high-profile Sunday games featuring a dome team hosting a contender who primarily spends its time playing outdoors, the Saints are sticking it to the Giants.

Already, the Saints lead 14-0.

The first score came on a short run from Mike Bell.  The second came on a short pass from Drew Brees to tight end Jeremy Shockey, a former Giant.

In the pregame show, Jay Glazer of FOX reported that Saints players were rallying around Shockey, who was a major disappointment in 2008, his first year with the team.  Coach Sean Payton made Shockey a captain for today’s game, Shockey’s first against the team with which he won a Super Bowl ring by double-fisting cocktails from a luxury suite.

Yeah the Giants are who I thought they were. Not much better than the Cowboys, if at all. A drop doesn’t bounce off of Witten’s heel or a deflected pass doesn’t fall into a receivers hands, Giants lose that game. Don’t be surprised if the Saints hang a 50-burger on those posers.

  6. slipkid says: Oct 18, 2009 1:54 PM

KEEP GOING SAINTS, I GAVE THE POINTS.

  7. RaiderRedleg says: Oct 18, 2009 1:54 PM

RaiderChile beat me to it…Hope the G-Men get drilled…Maybe get another one of those patented Antonio Pierce’s chasing a wide open reciever (ala Westbrook).

  8. khuman says: Oct 18, 2009 2:01 PM

  12. Romo With Game on Line says: Oct 18, 2009 2:28 PM

what is with the ‘who dat’ is that because it’s a predominantly black area and they all say that?

  13. dkpeagles says: Oct 18, 2009 2:45 PM

I think the 34-17 score at halftime proves that everyone read way too much into the Giants 5-0 start. yes, they were 5-0 … but they beat four teams that don’t really deserve to be in the NFL. Then again, the Giants secondary is in shambles because of injuries to some of their best players, but 34 points in one half is unacceptable for any team the analysts claim is going to the Superbowl …

  15. Borg30 says: Oct 18, 2009 2:51 PM

next victim in the nfc east, the cowgirls,

  16. VoxVeritas says: Oct 18, 2009 2:52 PM

“what is with the ‘who dat’ is that because it’s a predominantly black area and they all say that?”
No, it’s how the predominantly white cajuns talk.

  17. khuman says: Oct 18, 2009 2:59 PM

    WHO DAT ORIGIN
    by:obnoxious saints fan
The chant of “Who dat? Who dat say they gonna beat dem Saints” originated in minstrel shows and vaudeville acts of the late 1800s and early 1900s, and was then taken up by jazz and big band performers in the 1920s and 30s. Obviously, Louisiana’s large french cajun population contributed to its adoption by the Saints (who are, as someone said previously, predominantly white).

  18. Romo With Game on Line says: Oct 18, 2009 3:01 PM

I love it how the site posts about the shredding immediately followed by the Tony Romo HOF with a hint of sarcasm. You think Romo would be in the college HOF if he didn’t play for the Cowboys? Not sure, but there’s a reason ratings shoot up for the cowboys. Giants fans like Florio hate that. You’re lucky that Sunday night was a freak show in week 2 and that the refs love Champ Bailey.

  19. Borg30 says: Oct 18, 2009 3:18 PM

I love how all the cowgirls just cry and cry ,
please just move on , relax and dream about next year..

  20. EskinSux says: Oct 18, 2009 3:19 PM

What the hell exactly is a Romo With Game on Line?…..Has it shown itself yet?…It’s like Sasquatch, you hear rumors about it, but you never really see it……

  21. Chi-Town Raider says: Oct 18, 2009 3:27 PM

I am loving it!!! I wonder if these clowns feel like they are playing another practice scrimmage game. Well there is another touchdown!!!!
    41-17 Saints!!!
    Where is Antonio Pierce?
He should of practiced this week intstead of talking trash….damn IDIOT!
Go Raiders!!! Only the loyal ones will remain supporting this sorry ass team!

  22. promin1 says: Oct 18, 2009 3:37 PM

LOL…did you actually say Go Raiders? Kill yourself now.

  23. BroadStreet says: Oct 18, 2009 3:41 PM

    Eagles win by 33 today…

Try to focus…..You are a RaiDUH’s fan, talking about other teams?….I’m not a fan of the Giants or Saints, but why are you loving it?…Is this what RaiDUH’s fans do now, you seem as stupid as the people running the team……..

  25. BroadStreet says: Oct 18, 2009 3:49 PM

Why are you even reading this? I guess there’s nothing to read or write about on the Raiders page.
How can you make comments about the Giants, when you’re team couldn’t even beat USC right now?
    Dallas Sucks, Go Birds!

  26. VoxVeritas says: Oct 18, 2009 3:49 PM

only 9 points away from that 50-burger, promin1. I think the Saints are treating it like a scrimmage right now though.

  27. stadanko says: Oct 18, 2009 4:01 PM

So the Saints have destroyed all those big market northeast teams. Not trying to be a jerk but we Saints fans have put up with a lot of bad teams. Go Saints.

  28. VoxVeritas says: Oct 18, 2009 4:03 PM

“Try to focus…..You are a RaiDUH’s fan, talking about other teams?”
At least the Raiders have won the Super Bowl. In fact didn’t they bounce the Eagirls by double digits during one of them?

  29. VoxVeritas says: Oct 18, 2009 4:09 PM

Only 2 more points to that 50-burger, promin1. Still over 7 minutes left to play.
    Nice scrimmage for the Saints.

Hahahaha, I thought that handle was a slam on the Cowboys. Wow, it is serious!

  31. SF Saints Fan says: Oct 18, 2009 4:17 PM

Saints Offense have put up TD drives against the #1 Defense (maybe not after this game) in this game of:
    15 plays for 70 Yards – TD
    6 plays for 80 Yards – TD
    4 plays for 57 Yards – TD
    5 plays for 61 Yards – TD
    2 plays for 7 Yards – TD
    9 plays for 71 Yards – TD
    8 plays for 80 Yards – TD
Total yardage so far for the Saints – 500 Yards
The Saints just took Brees out of the game and put Mark Brunell for mop up duty.
I guess the Giants did not play a scrimmage this week!
    Go Saints!

  32. Smush Rodrigez says: Oct 18, 2009 4:18 PM

Florio, I sure hope the Giants are down below or even with the Eagles now after being exposed.

  33. VoxVeritas says: Oct 18, 2009 4:25 PM

“Florio, I sure hope the Giants are down below or even with the Eagles now after being exposed.”
Are you kidding? They’ll probably get a little bump up. And don’t forget that the Eagirls have been exposed, too. Both of those teams have been blown out.

  34. Bill In DC says: Oct 18, 2009 7:18 PM

“Florio, I sure hope the Giants are down below or even with the Eagles now after being exposed.”
ROFLMAO. Now that the Eagles have managed to get beat by the worst QB in the league, I suspect they will still be staring up at the Giants in the rankings. At least the Giants lost to a good football team.

  35. Chi-Town Raider says: Oct 18, 2009 7:29 PM

BroadStreet, EskinSux, and Promin1 it is now time to go jump off of the Ben Franklin bridge or go throw up in one of those toilets that is out on the sidewalk of South Street and Passyunk Avenue, you know the one that is readily available for everyone that eats the crappy cheeseteaks from Gino’s……LMAO!
The Raiders covered the spread baby!!
Oh what happened to the “Eagles by 33″???
    I LOVE IT!
    GO RAIDERS!!!!

  36. Mike Vick, Pet Detective says: Oct 18, 2009 7:37 PM

Where are the Eagles fans? Please come out and play.

  37. BigEasy says: Oct 18, 2009 8:26 PM

What’s with the roughing the pu$$y penalty…negating another pick 6 from Darren sharper….Hocouli is a vagina and apparently your not allowed to hit the QB in the Head or his chest…why don’t they just put flags on these Pu$$y’s and they’ll just pull them!!!

  38. Bigbluefan says: Oct 18, 2009 8:56 PM

Yes the aints played a very very good game today and the Giant D sucked
But we knew it was going to be a tough game
can that be said about the Raiders and KC?

  39. sm2sm2 says: Oct 19, 2009 12:55 AM
