8:23pm ET - I tried to think of a cool way to say “hello,” but I gave up. So hello.

8:24pm ET - What will the Bears need to win tonight?
More points than the Falcons.

8:25pm ET - If the New York Jets game goes into overtime will the NFL delay the start of the Bears game?
Yes. Please come back as soon as the Bills-Jets game is over. (We predict a Bills win on a field goal, after a long pass to Lee Evans is wiped out by replay review.)

8:26pm ET - So upset about the Giants today . . . .
The Saints seem to be the proverbial team of destiny. The Falcons might have something to say about that.

8:27pm ET - How is it possible that the Eagles lose to the Raiders?
Maybe Giant linebacker Antonio Pierce tried to get them riled up for the Eagles by saying that playing Oakland was like a scrimmage.

8:30pm ET - What is wrong with the Titans? They can’t be that bad, can they?
59-0 is about as bad as it gets. Less than a year ago, they beat the Lions 47-10.

8:31pm ET - Mike, who you picking tonight? I love me some Falcons @ home.
Hard to pick against the Falcons after what they did to the Niners.

8:32pm ET - Will Gaines Adams play tonight?
Gaines Adams is not active.

8:34pm ET - Hey Florio -- the only disappointment about today’s Pats game? It’s snowing!!!
I drove through it for about 100 miles last night in Maryland. I want my global warming.

8:35pm ET - Are the Bears and Falcons both fighting for Wild Cards the way the Saints and Vikings are playing?
Long way to go. Bears-Vikings and Falcons-Saints still play twice each. Vikings’ defense was horrendous in second half today. They made Joe Flacco look like Joe Montana, instead of Bert from Sesame Street. (Flacco still looks like Bert, too.)

8:36pm ET - Would you say the Saints are the best team in the NFL?
Right now, yes. Colts are right on their heels.

8:38pm ET - Minnesota v. Pittsburgh next week, can the Vikes stay undefeated?
Vikings are 4-4 all-time in Pittsburgh, and 8-5 against the Steelers in the regular season. It’ll be interesting to see what former defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin does to stop his old team. Steelers looked sluggish at times against the Browns today.

8:39pm ET - The Ravens lost three straight, all in the final minute. Are they good enough to make the playoffs?
Yes but their margin of error is shrinking. They need to got 7-3 or better down the stretch to make it, I think.

8:40pm ET - Do you agree that Andy Reid and his staff just are ineffective when it comes to in-game adjustments?
I think Reid resists going off game plan. So when it’s not working he keeps thinking it will eventually work if they just try harder.

8:41pm ET - Mark Sanchez threw 5 picks!
Maybe the Jets should have put him in a wind tunnel to see if he can throw it. He looked awful. That team is falling apart.

8:42pm ET - Which team really has control of the NFC East?
I still think the Giants are the best team in the division. They’re just not the best team in the conference.

8:43pm ET - Do you think Gaines Adams is worth a 2nd?
No. But the Bears think they can make him into something he isn’t. I wonder if Rod Marinelli talked to Monte Kiffin about that.

8:44pm ET - I’m a shank you Mike Florio!!!!
Son, I told you to stay off the computer until you finish your homework.

8:46pm ET - Do you think the NFC has finally caught up to the AFC in terms of talent?
I think it’s close. The NFC would be working on two straight Super Bowls if the Cardinals could have stopped the Steelers on that last drive.

8:48pm ET - What’s your biggest trade deadline prediction?
A lot of talk this year. Hard to tell what’s going to happen. Chiefs will move some people, I think.

8:49pm ET - Will Rex Ryan finally shut up?
I don’t think he can. I’ll be curious to see whether he gives the Bills credit or blames the Jets again.

8:51pm ET - Do you think the Titans are the worst team in the league?
I think that as long as the Rams and Bucs are winless, the Titans aren’t the worst. Then again, 59-0 is one of the worst final scores I can remember. There were games in the ‘70s with one team scoring 50 or more, but I don’t recall any shutouts with that kind of number.

8:52pm ET - Why do some teams seem more ravaged by injuries than other teams. Seems like every year the Seahawks suck because they are hurt.
But how do they go from beating Jax 41-0 and then losing 24-3 to the Cardinals?

8:52pm ET - Rams lost to Jags in front of 13 fans -- which team is in more trouble?
St. Louis has lost 16 in a row. Jags are 3-3. Rams are in worse shape, by far.

8:53pm ET - Hows the VW bus handle the snow?
I have equipped it with a V8 and all-wheel drive. So it’s fine.

8:55pm ET - How much longer for Jim Zorn?
Nine days at best. Nine hours at worst.

8:58pm ET - Should the Vikings be 6-0? Or are they just lucky?
Luck creates more luck. They are loose in the clutch, thanks to Favre. Their defense is getting a little too soft, though.

8:58pm ET - Who is the most overrated player in NFL today? T.O.?
I don’t think they can get T.O. the ball when he’s open. When it comes to overrated, L.T. is hard to beat.

9:00pm ET - After losing 26-0 today is there any chacne the Lions pull the plug on Jim Schwartz and admit his hire was a mistake?
No way. He’ll get at least 2-3 years. They don’t have Stafford and they were playing a team that had 2 weeks off to prepare.

9:01pm ET - Will the Browns trade Brady Quinn? During or after the season if so?
I agree with Peter King that Quinn won’t be back in 2010. There’s a chance he gets moved if the Browns get a good offer.

9:03pm ET - I bet Housh wishes he would’ve signed with the Vikes now . . .
Housh wanted the money. He didn’t care about playing for a winner. Vikes are better without him.

9:07pm ET - Mike, Chicago vs. New York style pizza which do you prefer?
New York. And when I was there over the weekend I got my favorite New York-style pizza. At Sbarro.

9:07pm ET - Do you think T.O. will be out of Buffalo next year?
Yes. Unless they somehow make it to the playoffs.

9:09pm ET - Knox for Rookie of the year?
What about Sanchez? Oh. Never mind.

9:10pm ET - Will Todd Collins start for the Skins next week?
Jim Zorn said after the game it was a one-time thing. Then again, Zorn has also given up play calling in order to remain employed. So if someone else decides it’ll be Collins, then it’ll be Collins.

9:11pm ET - What about Percy Harvin?
He hasn’t done much the last couple of games.

9:13pm ET - Is K.C. really thinking about trading Bowe? What would they have left?
They would trade anyone but Matt Cassel. They know they need to rebuild through the draft.

9:14pm ET - Quinn to the Raiders for three first rounders and a Water Pik.
“You’re not giving away our Water Pik!”

9:15pm ET - Why is my stream not working!?
Prostate trouble?

9:16pm ET - Will there be an uncapped year in the NFL?
Yes. The league is fine with it because no cap means no salary floor. A lot of teams will spend less money.

9:19pm ET - So who’s top dog for them Ravens? Ray Rice or Willis McGahee?
Rice was on a higher level in the fourth quarter today. Every team needs two guys who can get it done, but he’s a potential star.

9:20pm ET - Why did I start McNabb over Brees?
Hey, I started McNabb over Favre. Those are both obvious choices. The Raiders had looked awful. No one expected them to wake up.

9:22pm ET - Shoud the Tampa Bay Bucs put on their annoying bright orange jerseys until the win a game?
They actually will wear those when they play the Packers next month. In front of 20,000-plus empty seats.

9:23pm ET - Which team do you think will remain undefeated longest?
Colts. They go to St. Louis then they have 3 straight home games. Toughest will be Patriots on November 15.

9:25pm ET - Should the Tampa Bay Bucs put on USF jerseys so they can sell out a game?
No -- they should join the Big East so they can maybe win a game.

9:27pm ET - Will Dan Snyder hire Charlie Weis as the Redskins next coach?
Charlie Weis is off the radar screen for NFL jobs.

9:28pm ET - What is Brady Quinn’s trade value now, love to see him end up in D.C.
I think it would be a mistake to trade for a new quarterback when there is going to be a new coach next year.

9:29pm ET - What’s more embarrassing? Philly losing to Oakland, or Sanchez throwing five picks?
Sanchez, because if he can’t throw in bad conditions in the Meadowlands it was a huge mistake to draft him.

9:30pm ET - If Tampa Bay should join the Big East, should St. Louis join Conference USA or would Tulane knock them off?
I think the Rams should target the MAC. They would have good games against Toledo.

9:31pm ET - Redskins new coach next year? How about tomorrow?
Zorn saved his job for now by giving up play-calling duties. Sherm Lewis apparently will take over that function. Zorn and Vinny Cerrato are going to make the decision tomorrow.

9:34pm ET - What is more surprising to you? The Broncos at 5-0 or the Titans at 0-6 and losing a game by 59 points.
Without question, the Titans going 0-6 and just giving up today, in every phase of the game. They played like the ’72-'73 Oilers, who went 1-13 each year.

9:36pm ET - Zorn and Vinny are going to make what decision tomorrow?
They’re going to decide who will call the plays. Other than Zorn.

9:41pm ET - Do you think it’s possible that the Ravens will make a trade for Adalius Thomas to try to help the defense?
The Pats apparently would take a big cap hit. They might not be able to work it out if they were inclined to move him.

9:44pm ET - What is your all-time favorite football movie?
Quarterback of the Future. OK, it hasn’t been made yet and likely never will be. But it would be my favorite if it ever were.

9:45pm ET - Next Sunday could be another 59-0 at Tampa Bay.
They play in London. The Bucs might be distracted by having all those people show up for a “home” game.

9:46pm ET - Would you say Arizona’s a dissapointment after making it to the Super Bowl last year?
Yes, but they didn’t look like a disappointment today in Seattle. The Seahawks just pasted the Jaguars at home and the Cardinals picked them apart.

9:47pm ET - Which teams don’t have cap room to make trades -- given the accelaration.
Most teams have plenty of cap room. The Rams have hardly any, and thus couldn’t trade Steven Jackson or Marc Bulger. (Then again, who would want Bulger?)

9:48pm ET - T.O. to Bears before deadline? Your thoughts.
Won’t happen. Bills don’t want to move Owens and the Bears don’t want him.

10:03pm ET - What impact will Michael Crabtree have in San Fran with the 49ers?
Not much at first. He missed all of the offseason program due to his foot injury. He has a long way to go. The best bet would be to get him ready to help in December and January.

10:04pm ET - Will the Cowboys make the playoffs and who will be the head coach next year?
They had a good day without playing . . . every other team in the NFC East lost. I could see Jones hiring someone like Mike Nolan. He’s not going to want a big-name guy who’ll try to take the place over.

10:05pm ET - Why did the Colts really cut Ed Johnson?
Johnson’s camp thinks it was because of the grievance he filed after they cut him last year. They wanted him to drop it when they re-signed him in May.

10:06pm ET - Hey I thought you were going to post some stuff on PFT during the half. What happened did you get stuck in the bathroom?
There’s a new story at PFT. And I got stuck in the bathroom. I’m doing this from my Sprint phone.

10:07pm ET - What about Lee Evans to the Bears?
I don’t see it happening. The Bears like who they have. What would the Bears give up? They’ve already sent their first-round pick and second-round pick elsewhere via trades.

10:10pm ET - Best QB in the NFL: Manning, Brady, or Brees?
Peyton Manning. He’d be working on his fifth or sixth Super Bowl if he played for the Patriots.

10:10pm ET - Remind me if I ever meet you in person not to borrow your Sprint phone.
I bought it at Brentano’s.

10:12pm ET - Are the Jets willing to go to Kellen Clemens this season after Sanchez’s 5 interceptions?
They’re several more losses away from benching Sanchez.

10:12pm ET - Will San Diego win tomorrow?
Hard to pick against the Broncos.

10:13pm ET - Are you stupid? Peyton don’t got nothing on Brees.
If by “nothing” you mean a Super Bowl ring and three MVP awards, then yes. I am stupid.

10:18pm ET - Is this the start of Sanchez stuggling for the rest of the season or will he bounce back?
“Start”? It started two weeks ago. It won’t get a whole lot better, especially once film gets around of how to confuse him.

10:19pm ET - How can you say Manning is better than Brees right now? Have you even watched a Saints game?
I know it’s hard to be objective when your team is doing well, but Peyton Manning generally is regarded as far superior to Drew Brees.

10:20pm ET - How long till the Browns fire Mangini?
He’ll make it through the season. This James Davis thing could be a problem for him, especially since he was dinged for the Favre injury report thing, too.

10:21pm ET - Will Derek Anderson get benched after his last few fairly awful performances?
I got the feeling at one point today that they’re thinking about Josh Cribbs full time.

10:23pm ET - I guarantee you that if Brees wins a superbowl, he’ll be considered better than Manning stat wise.
Manning is on pace to shatter all of Brett Favre’s records. Brees isn’t. That’s a fact.

10:27pm ET - Behind the Saints and Vikings, what other team is competitive in the NFC???
I’d say the winner of tonight’s game is in the discussion. And the loser.

10:28pm ET - Is it really necessary to post the entire transcript of this drivel at PFT?
We post it because of the quality of the questions.

10:30pm ET - Peyton Manning is an offense by himself. Drew Brees is just great at his position.
Exactly. Manning will win with whatever they give him.

10:31pm ET - Who will be the winner of tonight’s game what’s your prediction?
I took the Falcons for the PFT picks, and in my coffee bet with Peter King.

10:33pm ET - What and where is PFT?
PFT is ProFootballTalk.com. Please visit us 20 times per day. (We’ll settle for 15.)

10:38pm ET - With an 0-6 start and big rebuilding project ahead, any chance this is the begining of the end for Jeff Fisher?
It could be. Owners in their 80s are capable of doing unpredictable things. And G.M. Mike Reinfeldt might be quietly making the case to hire his own guy.

10:39pm ET - Is Darrelle Revis the best cornerback in the NFL ?
I thought so until last Monday night, when Ted Ginn was kicking blades of grass up onto Darrelle’s jersey.

10:39pm ET - Do the Dolphins stand a chance against the Saints?
Yes. I really like the Dolphins with Henne at quarterback. Fun to watch. Not easy to beat.

10:40pm ET - Florio, can you get me a job at PFT?
Can I? Yes. Will I? That’s the real question.

10:43pm ET - Florio, which coaches do you think will be fired at the end of the year?
The guys in the most trouble are Jauron, Kubiak, Del Rio, Cable, Turner, Phillips, Zorn, and Fox. Mangini could be in trouble too, based on the James Davis thing and the team’s performance. Still too early to know who will go, but Zorn, Jauron, and Phillips seem to be the closest to sure things. Fisher is in trouble, too, I think.

10:44pm ET - Will the Eagles make the playoffs?
Before today, I thought they were a sure thing. After today, it’s a toss up.

10:45pm ET - Do you see Tim Tebow as being a major bust when he reaches the NFL?
It depends on how high he is drafted. Apart from being a spread quarterback, can he make the NFL throws? I’m not sure he can.

10:46pm ET - Florio, I saw you at halftime of the ND game yesterday. You look more like David Byrne of the Talking Heads than the normal TV talking head.
That’s funny, because as I was trying to put in my ear piece I asked myself, “How do I work this?”

10:46pm - Wouldn’t Tebow be a PERFECT fit for the offense Miami is running?
10:47pm - Hey, they’ve used a second-round pick on a quarterback two years in a row. Why not go for three?

10:48pm ET - Do you think the Redskins have a chance at all this season?
They have a “chance.” The size of the chance is the issue.

10:49pm ET - Do you sometimes choose questions that are easy to make sarcastic comments to?
I have never done that. And I’m not being sarcastic. Really, I’m not.

10:50pm ET - What do you think about that last play? Very interesting......
It’s amazing to me that an official can be standing right there when a guy loses the ball before hitting the ground and still insist the guy was down by contact.

10:52pm ET - Is Jay Cutler a punk or just confident?
I’d say both.

10:53pm ET - Can the Minnesota defense recover if Winfield misses significant amount of time?
They would need Asher Allen to step up -- and they would need to keep Karl Paymah off the field.

10:54pm ET - Coming back. . . . Holding.
That didn’t look like holding. It looked like a hockey fight.

10:55pm ET - Who are your 6 NFC playoffs teams so far?
As of right now, the Giants, Vikings, Saints, 49ers, Bears, Falcons.

10:58pm ET - You don’t think the Eagles are better than the Bears?
Today’s not the best day to ask that question.

10:59pm ET - Prediction on the Dante Wesley suspension and/or fine?
I’d say a $25,000 fine. It wasn’t helmet-to-helmet. He led with a forearm.

11:00pm ET - Florio, in your humble opinion, who will be the first team to beat the Saints.
I like the Dolphins next week to beat them.

11:03pm ET - Do you envision the Saints having home field advantage with their cakewalk of an upcoming schedule?
I wouldn’t call it a complete cakewalk. They play the Dolphins, Patriots, and the Falcons twice. Still, they should win the other seven. I think home field might come down to Saints and Vikings.

11:05pm ET - What about your picks for the AFC?
Colts, Steelers, Patriots, Broncos, Dolphins, and Bengals or Ravens.

11:06pm ET - What are chances that the Lions win two more games?
Since they play the Rams and Browns, I’d say, “Pretty darn good.”

11:07pm ET - Do you see Eagles fans starting to cry for Kevin Kolb after this week?
They’ll give Donovan one more game. Maybe less.

11:09pm ET - Can we give a shout out to Jones-Drew for calling out his team and getting the win this week?
Yeah, it was amazing how they beat . . . um . . . a Rams team that had lost 15 in a row. In overtime. (Championship!)

11:09pm ET - Dallas had a bye this week. Do you think the bye week will help Tony Romo get back on his game?
Yes, since he only threw one interception today.

11:13pm ET - More overrated Romo or McNabb?
Romo, without question. What has he done?

11:16pm ET - Are NFL players allowed to have their own fantasy football teams?
Daniel Snyder has been doing it for 10 years now. (I misread the question. I thought it said owners. Players are allowed to have their own teams. I think the NFL should worry about any of them being in high-stakes leagues. It could cause problems, in theory.)

11:17pm ET - Hi, this is George. I’ve got nothing to say.
Those are the easiest questions for me to answer.

11:19pm ET - What GMs are in the most danger right now?
Russ Brandon of the Bills, Gene Smith of the Jags, Rick Smith of the Texans, A.J. Smith of the Chargers, Marty Hurney of the Panthers, Vinny Cerrato of the Redskins. Mike Tannenbaum could be in trouble too if the Jets don’t make the playoffs and if Sanchez continues to play poorly in cold weather.

11:22pm ET - Do you see McNabb staying in Philly for the rest of his career?
Depends on how this year turns out. Kolb could be the guy next year.

11:23pm ET - So basically if your last name is Smith and your a G.M. your in trouble.
Basically, yes. (This just in: A.J. Smith is changing his last name to “Ochocinco.”)

11:24pm ET - What ever happened to Tatum Bell?
He’s playing in the UFL.

11:25pm ET - That was a lame joke.
Which one? They’re pretty much all lame.

11:27pm ET - Do you see Vick staying In Philly?
I firmly believe they signed him in order to get a close look at whether he could be the guy in 2010. I also believe they’ve already decided that he couldn’t.

11:28pm ET - Do you think A.J Smith was wrong for calling out the team?
Yes -- I think that stuff needs to stay behind closed doors. Unless Smith thought it was the only way to “reach these keedz.”

11:29pm ET - Have you been into the schnapps tonight.
Define “tonight.”

11:30pm ET - Have a great night Mike, thank you once again!!!
Thanks everyone. Watch the postgame show and then get some sleep. Tune in to PFT tomorrow for the Morning Aftermath, a game-by-game review of Sunday’s action. Plus all sorts of other stuff, especially with the trade deadline coming up.
