Titans refuse to put in Vince Young

Tom Brady got the hook Sunday faster than Kerry Collins

With a 52-0 lead in the third quarter, Brian Hoyer is in at quarterback for the Patriots.  Titans coach Jeff Fisher, however, refuses to go to Vince Young despite the lopsided score.

Look, we understand that Fisher doesn’t want to invite a “quarterback controversy.”  Perhaps he has no faith in Young, and is planning to stick with Collins for a while as a starter regardless.  Maybe he just doesn’t want to put Young in an impossible spot.

But in a laugher like this one, doesn’t it make sense to get Young some live reps in an effort to develop him?

It’s not like Young can do any worse.  Collins is 1-for-11 for 15 yards and an interception.

We’d blame the wintry conditions, but Brady threw for 380 yards and six touchdowns.  In just over two quarters of work.

UPDATE:  Of course, Jeff Fisher puts Young in right after we put this post up.  The dangers of the in-game entry.

Young would be 0 for 11 for 0 yards. Then he’d be crying on the sidelines, threaten suicide, find a New England gay and drink Tequila and dance shirtless with homos.

This is amazing that they won’t play Young in the second half. Forget what we think of his abilities, what about his thoughts today. He must be fuming on the sidelines, at not being able to play. This says so much of what Fisher thinks of his former #1 draft pick. WOW.

Vince is in, everybody calm down….All he’s going to do is hand the ball off to CJ anyway…

I hate to agree with a previous poster, but I think this is Fisher’s last season in Tennessee. Let him go…Maybe the Texans, Redskins, or Bill could use him. I like Fisher and I think he’s a great coach, but the time has finally come.

    LMAO.
On foxsports it lists Kerry Collins Stats as:
    2/12 for -7 yards.
    0 tds
    1 int.
    NEGATIVE SEVEN YARDS! lmao.
he’s sunk even further than Derek Anderson did last week. didn’t think that was even possible

We always talk about the best turnaround over the previous season. What is the worst reversal in NFL history. Tennessee wins their first 10 last year and ends up losing its last two. They have now lost their first 6 this year. Is this the worst reversal in history?

If that’s the case I like his style! lol Jeff Fisher and his Titans have crashed and burned to a point of no return. Why not let Vince play, that’s just unfairness to someone you’re supposed to trust.

So, am I the only one who thought Vince showed true Franchise capabilities out there, he was far more effective than Kerry Collins, he had 10+ attempts for just 1 interception, Young was 1 for 1, that ladies and gentleman is why he should be starting.

  11. champ says: Oct 18, 2009 8:11 PM

this should be the end of the kerry collins experiment and the rest of the season spent developing vince or at least finding out if he’s the QB of the future. To keep collins in there would be an embarrassment and a waste of a meaningless season anyway. time for fisher to go.
