Accident occurs at Qualcomm

We have some sobering news to share from Qualcomm Stadium, where tonight’s Broncos-Chargers game is scheduled to begin in less than two hours.

An unidentified man fell roughly 40 feet from a catwalk on the press level of the stadium around 2:30 PM Pacific time.  He was administered CPR 15 minutes later after hitting the seats and concrete at the club level below, according the North County Times.  He was described as unresponsive.

Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times tweets that they have shut down the press box and the assembled media is waiting outside.  He writes that the man was a longtime PR helper.

The worker has been taken to Sharp
Memorial Hospital in San Diego.

UPDATE: The press has been allowed into the press box after the accident. Players have started their warmups.

May the good Lord bless this man and his family. As it says in the good book: Revelations 7 . 16-17 “They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat … and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”
If he’s lived in God’s image, he’ll be in heaven with the good Lord for all eternity.
