Bills-Jets one-liners

LB Paul Posluszny’s interception with 6:25 left in overtime set up K Rian Lindell’s 47-yard field goal and a 16-13 Bills win.

Said Bills RB Fred Jackson, “We weren’t going to find a way to lose this one, we were going to find a way to win and that’s what we did.”

Rookie Bills S Jairus Byrd had two interceptions and continues to flash the ball hawking ability that he had at Oregon.

The 318 rushing yards allowed were two yards shy of the Bills franchise record.

Although rookie Jamon Meredith was forced into a start at right tackle, the Bills offensive line more than held its own on Sunday afternoon.

Said Jets QB Mark Sanchez, who threw five interceptions, “It was totally my fault. I’ve never played like this – ever. … It’s pretty embarrassing.”

Jets RB Thomas Jones set a franchise record with 210 rushing yards.

The Jets committed 14 penalties, including six in overtime.

Jets K Jay Feely’s team-record 24 consecutive made field goals ended when he missed a 44-yarder just before the half.

P Steve Weatherford bobbled the snap on a field goal try in overtime and then threw an interception as he tried to salvage something on the play.

A couple of those INTs would have been better hitting the ground. When it’s 4th down padding your stats with an INT at the expense of positive yardage is pretty stupid.

“Rookie Bills S Jairus Byrd had the first two interceptions of his NFL career.”
Not true. He picked one other ball off this year.

The bills really put forth magnificent effort toward finding a way to lose, but it the end, it just was not meant to be. TERRIBLE clock management on the last drive when with 50 or so seconds left at the 30 yard line the bills decided to sit on the ball and let lindel kick a 46 yarder into the wind, when they could have easily attempted two pass plays to shorten the field goal. How stupid, and lucky.
