Panthers-Buccaneers one-liners

Running backs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart combined for 262 yards and three touchdowns in the Panthers’ 28-21 victory.

Williams now ranks second on the Panthers all-time rushing attempts list.

Panthers S Dante Wesley said his brutal hit on Buccaneers KR Clifton Smith that earned him an ejection and touched off a near-brawl was unintentional.

Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer writes that the Panthers touched on a winning formula by taking QB Jake Delhomme out of the equation.

The Panthers special teams did not have a good day.

Said Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris, “We either need to get better up front or we need to get better people.”

Gary Shelton of the St. Petersburg Times thinks it is time for the Buccaneers to go with QB Josh Freeman.

Buccaneers S Tanard Jackson said the enjoyment of his first NFL touchdown was lessened because the team lost.

Rookie WR Sammie Stroughter took a kickoff 98 yards for the third kickoff return touchdown in Buccaneers history.

Said Buccaneers WR Antonio Bryant after having two catches, “All I can do is. . . control what I can control. That’s
going out there, running the routes, trying to get open and being where
I’m supposed to be so it shows up on film, the right people see it and
something gets done about it.”

    Delhomme has not thrown more than 1 TD in a game since OCTOBER 26th 2008, and in that time has thrown 21 INT’s. He has not had a 3 TD game since Sept. 16th, 2007! No WR or RB has caught a TD yet all season!
