Definite head scratcher…
TBC was playing really well and if they just wanted to cut someone and create a roster spot you would think Burgess would be the one, since TBC has been a hell of a lot more productive.
I am wondering if Burgess and Thomas have been sent into Witness Protection as even when Thomas was active I don’t recall seeing either on the field.
My only thinking is Burgess’ hit on the cap would be higher than TBC’s, but if a deal was in the works why not just trade him with Adalius if that is the conventional thinking? Wouldn’t that then allow you to take TBC’s salary off the books and slide it to his new team?
Cutting TBC to make room for a roster spot while dealing Galloway and Adalius doesn’t make sense either as those two would’ve created the room organically by the trade.
BB knows a hell of a lot more about this game and personnel than anyone on here, but why cut one of the more productive guys in regards to a pass rush (which is sorely needed right now)?
It’s too early to think this deep…I’m going to go get more coffee.

I can’t wait to see how this all plays out. Like its been said, there was NO benefit to dropping him for financial reasons (or playing wise for that matter).
We are very mediocre at OLB and pass rushing in general. There HAS to be something more to this move. And if you feel (like me) that Banta-Cain was a solid player so far and we suddenly cut him (while Adalius Thomas was inactive), this has to involve a move at OLB. We sat one of our best OLB and cut one of our best OLB. and I’ll say it, I’m not sold on Burgess..
So who’s it going to be? Peppers? I’ve heard maybe Coles for AT.. Branch for AT?
All I know is, I was at the Pats game yesterday, and my toes are still cold…

I cant help but point out the fact that the wonderlic is obvioulsy pointless. Mcnabb has the worst score and is still the best quarterback on that list. Not to mention Romo scored 10 pts higher than perhaps the biggest bust of all time….Ryan Leaf. This is pointless. Plus it is in the wrong forum. Speak about the topic at hand or shut the hell up. I agree that the patriots have something in the works. There is no other justifiable reason to make this move. Plus Bill will lie about this even after the guy takes the field. He gives up nothing. You’re an idiot. Don’t ever think that you can speak for my intent. Florio saw Tony Romo hold up three fingers at the end of a game and assumed that Romo forgot that he had just played the 4th down. An incorrect assumption, but Florio ran with it as an example of how Tony Romo is not suited to be a successful QB at the NFL level. Specifically, he said “Maybe he’s just not smart enough to be a high-level NFL quarterback. Even if it was a temporary release of brain gas, the fact remains that franchise quarterbacks don’t make that mistake. Ever.”
My intent is to find out why Florio is so extremely slanted in the way that he treats different teams and players. Now that you mention it, that does play right into the Rush Limbaugh comments, doesn’t it? Since Florio has gone all MSM on us. That hadn’t even crossed my mind, but that’s a good extra point to go along with my original point that Florio holds an undrafted guy out of EIU to a higher standard than the big school #2 overall guy, Donovan McNabb, even though McNabb has proven on multiple occasions that he’s prone to making mental mistakes on the very basic levels of the game. The basic rules that are taught and are consistent from the Pee-Wees to the pros… such as the fact that games can end in a tie and that you don’t get more than three timeouts in a half. Furthermore, he hurt his team both times. Is Florio doing this because McNabb is black? I don’t know, but he’s definitely doing it and I’d like to know why he’s doing it.
