Titans-Patriots one-liners

Said Titans LB Keith Bulluck of the 59-0 Patriots victory, “I guess the problem was we couldn’t stop them and we kept turning the ball over on turnovers. It wasn’t good.”

In one 17-play stretch, the Titans gave up three touchdown passes, turned the ball over three times and picked up a roughing-the-passer penalty.

If not for a generous mark on what looked like a safety, the Titans would have been on the receiving end of the most lopsided beating in NFL history.

Neither Kerry Collins nor Vince Young expressed any idea about who would be the quarterback going forward.

If there was a bright spot for the Titans, it was RB Chris Johnson picking up 128 yards on 17 carries.

Said Patriots QB Tom Brady, “I don’t think it shakes anybody up when you go out there and do that. That just shows that
when we go out and execute, we’re going to score points.”

Patriots CB Darius Butler intercepted a pass in a game he played with a heavy heart after learning that UConn teammate Jasper Howard was stabbed to death on Sunday morning.

The Patriots broke or tied 10 team records on Sunday, including most points in a half and total net yardage.

After Patriots RB Sammy Morris left the game with a knee injury, Laurence Maroney made the most of his increased opportunity with 123 yards and a touchdown.

Rookie Sebastian Vollmer stepped into the starting right left tackle spot and 59 points indicates that the Patriots offense didn’t miss a beat.

Vollmer played left tackle. He may have secured the left tackle spot which was being held down by an over-rated Matt Light.

Vollmer looked great at tackle. May Matt Light never be seen or heard from again.

To be fair to the Titans. The Bears did beat the Redskins 73-0 in an NFL championship game back in 1943ish. So, don’t feel to bad Nashville.
