Look out, AFC. There’s a team that’s quietly pulling itself into contention for a wild-card berth.
With the Jets and Ravens falling to 3-3, the Jaguars joined the Texans to create a logjam of .500 teams that still could rise up and steal a spot in the playoffs.
So far, the Jaguars have lost the games that they arguably should have lost (Colts, Cardinals, and Seahawks) and they won they games they arguably should have won (Texans, Titans, Rams).
If they can continue to win the games they should win, the Jags will need to steal only one or two against the Jets or the 49ers or the Dolphins or the Colts to make it to the tournament.
And maybe more than 38,425 people will show up for a game.
That said, the Jaguars need to win the ones they should a bit more handily, especially when they outgain the opponent by 230 yards.
Then there are the Rams. Losers of 16 in a row, with only two realistic shots at avoiding 0-16 for the year and a record-tying 26 straight losses: November 1 at Detroit, and November 29 at home against the Seahawks.
To their credit, the Rams aren’t quitting, yet. The question is whether they’ll continue to bring their best as the losses continue to mount.
If they do, then Steve Spagnuolo should get a few votes for coach of the year.
Mike seems to be more impressed with the Jags than the Steelers. *big eye roll*
“Losers of 16 in a row, with only two realistic shots at avoiding 0-16 for the year and a record-tying 26 straight losses”
Don’t forget, they also play the Titans on December 13th. As a Titans fan, how could you assume that the Titans will win that game?
Not to be a stickler, but how can you say the Jags should have lost to the Seahawks (indicating they’re a decent team) and then turn around and say that the Rams should be able to beat them? Saying its arguable implies that sane people could make that argument. I wouldn’t…
I’ll second Beez’s comment – I think the Titans will be the other opportunity for the Rams.
Since when is it a “tournament”?

___
are you dumb or just retarded?
I don’t care how bad the Rams are, please bring them back to LA where they belong.
“That said, the Jaguars need to win the ones they should a bit more handily, especially when they outgain the opponent by 230 yards.”
Why? Why do they “need to win” any other way except by being ahead at the final whistle? Nobody’s voting on who goes to the playoffs in this league and a win is a freaking win.
The Jaguars have undertaken a massive rebuilding project and find themselves at 3-3 and a team that is at least somewhat competitive. They should be happy to win any way that they can.
