The general perception regarding the decision of receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh to jump from the Bengals to the Seahawks was that the Bengals behaved like, well, the Bengals, and that the Seahawks offered Houshmandzadeh a much larger financial package.
Not so, says Houshmandzadeh.
Appearing on 1530 Homer's Two Deep Zone with Artrell Hawkins and Charles Fisher, Houshmandzadeh admitted that the Bengals' bottom-line offer was "very, very close" to the deal he accepted in Seattle.
He admitted that he allowed personal feelings to overcome the business realities. "I didn't really step back and separate the two. . . . It wasn't a big difference at all, to be honest with you," Houshmandzadeh said.
So Houshmandzadeh is on a 2-4 team and the Bengals are 4-2, and Houshmandzadeh said that, if he were still in Cincinnati, the team would be 6-0.

I will pay him $5 if he never plays for the Vikings.
Too late now, Houshmandsucka!
/see what I did there?
I can't believe I was depressed when the Douche signed with Seattle. The 6-0 Vikings would be 4-2 at best with this primadonna.
"So Houshmandzadeh is on a 2-4 team and the Bengals are 4-2, and Houshmandzadeh said that, if he were still in Cincinnati, the team would be 6-0."
Could this guy be any more of an arrogant prick? It seems like every time he opens his mouth, he's talking about how great he is and the impact he has. As a Bengals fan, I'm glad T.J. is gone.
The big question is whether he'd still be running his mouth like the spoiled little bitch he is ??
shut your fu@king mouth and get me some fantasy points.
Does anyone outside of Seattle care what this guy thinks or says anymore? Just shut up and play. Players on team playing .333 ball need to add a little humility to their rap.
Hey TJ...STFU, get in the gym and practice more.
apparently when he left cincy he took the stupid with him,,,just look at what ocho is doing this year.
As a Bengals fan, I was also happy to see T.J. go. Everyone outside of Cincy thought he was the mild-mannered well-behaved side kick to the ocho. But watching him play in Cincy, his drama is no surprise. He was constantly complaining about not getting the ball, not getting calls, and being "pigeon-holed" as a possession receiver. And since Andre Caldwell caught 2 of the last minute TD passes, I'd say the Bengals with TJ would be 2-4 as well.
As I've said time and time again, now we know who the real locker room cancer was in Cincy and apparently it wasn't Ocho. Good riddance TJ!
Looks like the Bengals and their fans won on this one. This guy is a bum.
@JollyRoger - I am a Bengals fan too, and I can't believe you are happy that TJ is gone. While that is a pretty arrogant thing to say, if you look at all the balls his replacement Coles has dropped....along with Coats, losing TJ took away an amazing over the middle threat. Sure Caldwell is filling in nicely, but I miss TJ being a Bengal.
Seeing how Cincy is out to their best start since.....well, since before Houshzwhahtshisname showed up there, I'd say his opinion is wrong.
T.J. is as big a pussy as DaveTheDude. Where you been hiding Seahawk homer??
Was he always this egomaniacal and we just never knew because he was overshadowed by OchoCinco?
Would love to have TJ back, the Bengals are lacking a third down safety net (TE's have stone hands, and Vern has been slightly disappointing), plus he was a catalyst with a GREAT deal of trust from Carson. Yes, he is showing that he can make idiotic statements this year, but you can't say he wouldn't be helping this team, guy's a good receiver (albeit a 2 receiver). Shame he went to play with old man river in that offense.
yo TJ Hooker how do you spell O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D on planet Houshmandzadeh???
6-0
what whould he have run on the field and make a tackle vs the Broncos??
jesus how i hate players like that, listen
OCHOCINCO = funny
HoushHoushmandzadeh = not funny
bye the way the message i got from that article
Cincy was close to pay a cocky ass balloon with the hair style of a dutch biatch as much as Seattle = buying a 1965 chevy with a dead body in the trunk and a blown engine, i bet Marv will be soooo jealouse
only question: what would be the seahawks record without TJ Hooker 6 games 7-0 ?
I think Caldwell is filling in nicely to TJ's position. Yeah Coles seems to be a bust so far but we have Caldwell. We aren't missing anything on 3rd downs except for competant play calling from our terrible OC. I don't miss TJ at all. At first I was upset that we let him go, but now I'm very happy he's gone.
Not often do players come out and admit they're stupid. Hat's off to T.J. Houshmandzadeh for his honesty.
The guy might sound like a douche but he was a good teammate in Cincy. Not only to Carson and Chad, but the rest of the team as well all liked Housh (As stated by John Thornton and Willie Anderson).
He worked his arse off and did well in games. But at the same time I'm glad he's gone because now that he has the money he can be as arrogant as he wants to be publicly. Not that he wasn't in Cincy before the contract, but I think the big money contract just reinforces his already giant ego.
"I just want to let everyone know that Matt Hasselbeck and I will be leading the Seahawks to the playoffs this season," Houshmandzadeh said. "And we'll be going to the Pro Bowl as a tandem."
"We're both going to have top five seasons: He'll have a top five quarterback season, and I'll have a top five receiving season. I'll put up stats I've never had before yardswise because they're allowing me to be a complete receiver.
HAHA YOUR ON THE WAY!!!
Just another overpaid free agent fraud just like Bernard Berrian was.
It's called Karma, sucka! You left and the team got better.
Have fun in your new crappy town.
good one...
they are allowing me to be a complete receiver - THAT I AM NOT
my mother always told me too of course you can become an astronaut, not happening TJ
Interesting that he'd make the Bengals a 6-0 team... does that mean he's holding back effort in Seattle then?
I always liked Housh, he was the quiet 'go get the job done without fanfare' guy that reminded me of Rod Smith in a lot of ways. Now he's a less-capable and more self-centered T.O.- and that takes some serious hubris to pull that off.
Who knew that Ochocinco was the bright one of that pair?

Whenever one of these dipshits opens their mouth, this is exactly how I feel. Someone took TJ in the 2nd round in my draft, but I live in Cincinnati, so my league is full of homers.
Wow, just like most other non Bengal fans, I thought Ochocinco was the brash idiot here. Now, we all know Houshnamdzkhsdfha is the true dumbass and it may be one of the reasons the Bengals are doing so much better this season. Congrats Bengals fans, lucky to get rid of your true team cancer, sorry to you Seahawks fans that are now stuck with little T.O.
"So Houshmandzadeh is on a 2-4 team and the Bengals are 4-2, and Houshmandzadeh said that, if he were still in Cincinnati, the team would be 6-0."
Maybe he meant to say that if he were still in Cincinnati the Seahawks would be 6-0.
TJ Douchemanzadeh needs to shut the hell up. just play football, and stop making these claims about how "great" you are. jesus.
I was one of the people who saw T.J. as the rare humble WR and I thought he would have a big year in Seatle.
I was suprised when he complained about Madden not ranking him high enough because I thought that was unlike him.
I see now how wrong I was. If h would give the bengals 2 wins does that mean the hawks would be 0-6 without him.
@ jefbob - T.J. is better than Coles or Caldwell in terms of skills. But I think the Bengals' success this year is due primarily to a change in attitude and mindset. Ocho said as much on this past Sunday's NFL Today. T.J. clearly doesn't have the right attitude and (I think) he would be a cancer in the locker room. The benefits of having his skills would be outweighed by his crappy mindset this year, IMO. That's why I'm glad he's gone.
Well unfortunately, we Bengals fans created this Monster. We made him out to be something great b/c he was our big 3rd down receiver. That's all he is and all he'll ever be. Now that he got a "big boy" contract he thinks he's something and he's not. He's still nothing but a solid 3rd down receiver who has a blown up ego. We're doing just fine w/o him.
"Someone took TJ in the 2nd round in my draft"...
Can I join your league next season?
Houshmandzadeh says his Madden rating would be 5 points higher if he were still on the Bengals.
@Jolly - I guess you are right. I didn't see where Ocho said that on Sunday, and I guess I didn't really think of TJ as having an attitude problem before he signed with Seattle. I shouldn't have said I missed TJ being a Bengal, but I am not glad hes gone. I am a Bengals fan, not a TJ fan, so I am just happy we are off to a good start this year.
He's just saying this because the Bengals have a better record and lead the division while he plays on a lousy team that he CHOSE becasue of the money. What a bum. I hope Cincy kicks ass without him. TJ has always been overrated. He played across Chad since college, and now he's all on his own and he can't get do shit
People wanna hate on chad but notice once TJ,Rudi & Levi are gone the bengals start acting like a "team" that the MEMEME Players are gone..
Chad made mistake last year and he's owning up and proving he's still lovable.
Sorry TJ,
Caldwell is the new clutch WR for the Bengals. But at least you have a wide verity of coffees to choose from. Now if we can just get Coles to catch a darn ball.......
Grass is certainly not greener in Seattle now is it?
Even with all that rain......

who-dey!!
