Antonio Cromartie injures knee in practice, L.T. has the flu

On the same day that Chargers demoted cornerback Antoine Cason from his position as nickel back, starting cornerback Antonio Cromartie suffered a knee injury.

So maybe Cason won’t be on the bench for long.

For now, Cromartie’s injury is being described as a “tweak,” per Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune.  But he’s going to have an MRI, which means that there’s a chance that the news won’t be great for the Chargers, who play at Kansas City on Sunday.

The team also is dealing with a minor flu outbreak.  Four players, including running back LaDainian Tomlinson, missed practice on Thursday.

Though it’s not known whether the other three have H1N1, there’s a good chance that L.T. is suffering from the strain known as “that’s what you get for taking me out on third down near the goal line.”

    It can’t be the latter.
    It’s not the playoffs.

Chargers are done…..need a new running back, and a new coach.

Why do you all jump on every chance you get to poke fun at LT? You expect one of the ultimate competitors in the game to admit that he is on the decline? He makes an ass out of him self sometimes but not in the way that guys like T.O. do. He only makes an ass out of himself as a result of being an ultimate competitor in frustrating situations. The guy just wants to win. At least he is passionate about something and doesn’t spend his time behind a keyboard bashing other people.

Lawrence Taylor was L.T. That’s the list. Tomlinson has a yeast infection brought on by a severe case of Chronic Whining.

Hey CanadianVikingfan… 1) You are making fun of the wrong guy. Darren Sproles is the one who stutters. and… 2)you are an idiot…and 3)You are an idiot.

LaDainian Tomlinson is the classiest player to ever get the flu…

@INVAIDUH: Have you really forgotten just how badly LT has overachieved vs the Raiturds during his career!?! LT has rushed for 1,906yds and 22 TD’s in 16 games. Sounds like the Raiturds have been the one’s bending over as LT’s the b!tch!

Tell us again, Tomlinson….”You guys know me, I’m a classy guy.”
The classy one has a another case of pussyitis.

For all the people getting angry with us “haters”, apparently you haven’t watched this clown for the past 3-5 years and his constant injury status followed by his claiming to be the best followed by more injuries and then more pouting. It isn’t from being competetive or frustrated, it’s from being a little b*tch. Get over it.

I see LaToeinjury being cut after this season and going the way of the MarHar.

  15. OntBoltFan says: Oct 23, 2009 8:47 AM

Maybe you morons could list another back who has had more carries than LT since 2001.
Remember Martyball? ie pound the RB for 1,400 ypy. He’ll be a first year ballot HOF er in 5 yrs time while you’ll still be here posting your crap.

  16. TD21 says: Oct 23, 2009 9:45 AM

I’m so sick of all the LT haters. Remember a few years back when the guy set the single season touchdown record. Fastest RB to ever get to 100 TD’s….obviously he is 30 now and has taken a beating, but he has given his heart and soul to the Chargers, and been a man when AJ tried to screw him. So go ahead and post your garbage about him whining, but you only wish your franchise had a RB with the talent, class and production of LT. Suck it haters

  17. BoneCrusher says: Oct 23, 2009 9:57 AM

    LT is demoted to lt.

  18. TD21 says: Oct 23, 2009 9:58 AM

3-5 years, really CHAPNASTY? Do some homework before you go spouting off making yourself sound like an idiot…
    2008 1110 yards 11td’s
    2007 1474 yards 15tds
    2006 1815 yards 28td’s
    2005 1462 yards 18tds
I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and NOT go back 5 years. So apparently you are the one who hasn’t watched this “clown” in the last 3-5 years you jackass…give me a running back with better stats than that during that time period. You are the reason that guys get a bad reputation with fans, because you simply don’t know what you are talking about. Do us all a favor and keep your hands off your keyboard, you’re making yourself look like the idiot you obviously are…
An Rb that gives you 5,861 yards and 72 TD’s in last 4 years sure sounds like B*TCH to me….right…
Crawl back in the hole you came out of, you obviously don’t know enough about football to intelligently comment on stories. TOOL!

    LT has been Norvized.
year before Norv took over the chargirls:
    14-2
    Norv’s 1st year:11-4
    Norvs’ 2nd year:8-8
    Norv’s 3rd year? 6-10
LT’s Yards follow the same pattern and the Chargers Win-Loss record.

for real, how is anyone giving L.T. crap. He’s 30 friggin years old. He didn’t miss a regular season game in 9 years. Tell me any other running back that has done that. He’s carried the ball more than anyone the past 6-7 years. Give the guy a break, he’s sick, he’s only human.

haha, that’s awesome. i love to watch him play, but he does complain a lot, and his charades on the sideline after being pulled were pathetic.

  22. bezee23 says: Oct 23, 2009 12:59 PM

I agree that people need to get off L.T.’s back. He is still a very capable back and could start for a lot of teams.
However, L.T. and the rest of Chargers fans need to be REAL with themselves. Yes, L.T. you have lost a step, time to stop denying that. You arent the same quick young guy that used to dart through defenses and not get touched on 50 yard runs. He caught a screen pass Monday night and got tackled in the open field by a slow linebacker when 2 years ago that would have been to the house.
And you cant complain, L.T. when people question your toughness after your QB is running around playing his heart out with a torn ACL during a PLAYOFF game yelling at the opposing fans after touchdowns like a warrior. While you are standing on the sideline, uniform clean as a whistle, holding your helmet looking perfectly fine talking about your groin or some other minor injury.
But its O.K. L.T., this is a 2 back league now if anyone hasnt noticed and having Sproles’ presence on the sideline could only help L.T. play longer. You need to realize that. He doenst need to whine, make those faces when Sproles gets touches and act like he is still the same back when its OBVIOUS hes not. He can still contribute and he needs to be thankful and realistic.

  23. boltberg says: Oct 23, 2009 3:21 PM

Its funny how all you people hate on LT because he has torn all of your teams up over his entire career. I’m not shocked that you are all still bitter. It must really suck when the guy with the most touchdowns ever in a single season comes into your town and makes a mockery of your defense. Sure he doesn’t have any holes to run through this year but just watch he’ll have at least 1,000 yards again this season. And you will still be bitter. When was the last time you had a an RB on your team that had that many consecutive 1,000 yard seasons?

  24. OntBoltFan says: Oct 23, 2009 5:29 PM

In 2007 LT took a lot more pounding then Rivers. In fact both had knee injuries, LT having a torn MCL. Rivers could play through his ACl with a brace because he doesn’t have to cut on a dime to do his job.
LT if you recall tried to play in the game but was pulled because the knee wouldn’t let him be as effective as a healthier Sproles.
He didn’t bitch about anything. He sat on the bench pissed he couldn’t be playing helping his team in the loss to NE. Wish you retards could get your facts straight.
