Eric Wright escapes serious injury in car crash

In hindsight, Browns cornerback Eric Wright probably wishes he had the flu.

Wright reportedly wrecked his car last night after a Jay-Z concert in Cleveland.

The accident occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. ET, as Wright was merging from I-77 onto I-490.

He was treated and released at a local hospital.

Though he won’t be cited, WOIO reports that the police determined Wright was driving too fast under wet and slippery conditions.

He’s going to feel like he got hit by a train …after the Packers put it on him!

How the F-ck wont he be cited? Failure to control, Reckless Op.,Speeding, Being a member of the Browns, Not being able to cover anyone even if he had a big ass tarp. At least give him 20 lashings or put him in the stocks for a week or stick a giant A on his blouse(R eference to The Scarlet Letter? Check.)

No word yet on who the oncoming receiver was that made Wright swerve out of the way.

Based on Mangini’s approach for discipline, where a bottle of water costs $3k, I imagine a player that was at a god damn rap concert, out until 2 am, driving recklessly, is probably going to have to give back his salary for this year……

Have the Browns considered substituting their defense for 11 strategically hidden bear traps, land mines, and bottomless pits?

I live how the cops when there is no reason always site “driving too fast for conditions”. What a load of crap when the road is wet there are no skid marks to measure….which makes the charge a case of whose word do they believe the cops or the civilians……

He must have been having flashbacks from this past sunday of receivers running past him! I’ll fight Mangini or any Browns fan…bring it Cleveland!!!

Its a credit to Wright that he wasnt drunk – Hate to say it, but thats what it has come to – Its surprising when a guy does the right thing and doesnt drink and drive.

Why would he be cited? Isn’t it punishment enough that he has to play for the Browns?

I am glad that he is alright….but Florio, this headline is a little mis-leading. I thought this might be an article about Easy E.

Makes no sense to not issue a traffic citation after determining that he was driving too fast under wet and slippery conditions.

I think we all need to take a deep breath and wait until Al Sharpton weighs in on this issue.
The Palm Beach Post is reporting that police are currently trying to determine the whereabouts of Rush when the accident occured.

You don’t need skid marks to determine if someone is driving too fast for conditions. If a car simply hydroplanes the driver is obviously going too fast for conditions.

Reportedly, Wright received his driving instruction from Donte Stallworth. This report has not been confirmed.

i blame Jay-Z. If Wright didn’t listen to hip hop, this would never have happened!
