Though Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin generally has been described as having a sprained ankle, Boldin disclosed on Friday that he’s suffering from the more serious “high” ankle sprain, which involves the ligaments holding the tibia and fibula together.
Boldin told Mike Jurecki of Xtra Sports 910 in Phoenix that the Pro Bowler initially was told that he’d miss three or four weeks due to the injury.
“Hopefully I can get back out there Sunday,” Boldin said.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt seems to think that there’s a good chance Boldin will indeed be able to play against the Giants on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. (What, you expected me not to take advantage of an opportunity to drop a plug?)
“I’m amazed at how tough Anquan is and how quickly he recovers from things, Whisenhunt told Xtra Sports. “I was very pleased to see what he did today.”
Through five games in 2009, Boldin has 29 catches for 306 yards and one touchdown.
You’d think they’d want to reward a guy like that, somehow. If only there was a way for the team to do that…
“I’m amazed at how tough Anquan is and how quickly he recovers from things, Whisenhunt told Xtra Sports.
This is his 7th season, so far he’s played 16 games in only 2 seasons…he very well may be tough, but he certainly is brittle.
“brittle” Really I’d like to see you play the same year you literally broke your face, I’m sure you’re a grade A bad ass
