Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris typically misses a practice or two during the week due to his knee, but then he plays on Sunday.
This week, MDS pointed out Friday that Harris missed all three practices. And Harris now shows up as doubtful on the final injury report of the week.
“Doubtful” means that there’s a 25-percent chance that Harris will play. Typically, though, guys listed as doubtful don’t play.
Also for the Bears linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa (knee)
is out, running back Adrian Peterson (knee)
is doubtful, and safety Josh Bullocks (ankle), cornerback Corey Graham (ankle), linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer (rib), defensive tackle Israel Idonije (knee), and safety Kevin Payne (toe) are probable.
Chicago’s opponent, the Bengals, have some injuries issues as well. Tackle Andre Smith (foot)
is out (again), and safety Roy Williams (forearm)
is doubtful. Defensive tackle Jonathan Fanene (illness) and receiver Chris Henry (illness)
are questionable.
The list of probables for the Bengals includes tight end Daniel Coats (shoulder), defensive tackle Tank Johnson (foot), running back
Brian Leonard (groin), receiver Chad Ochocinco (hip), defensive tackle Domata Peko (knee), defensive end Frostee Rucker (ankle), and defensive tackle Pat Sims (biceps).
It was feared that Peko would be out for a while after suffering a knee injury last week. It now appears that he’ll miss no games because of it. Rucker has been hobbled in the recent past by an ankle, but the Bengals need to get him in the rotation due to the season-ending Achilles’ tendon tear suffered by defensive end Antwan Odom.
I’m still confused as to why you believe Tommie Harris being out is a story at all Florio. You are usually pretty damn good at what you do, which is why I frequent the site, but for some reason you don’t seem to understand that Tommie Harris has been a shell of his former self going on 3 years now. Other than his huge cap number he matters very little to the Bears.
Game of the week. Bears in a blowout.
Benson 18 carriers, 35 yards.
Palmer 9/21 83 yards, 0 tds, 3int.
Cutler 4 tds and remains in MVP race.
@SmackMyVickUp: Did Michael smack you over the head? Cutler MVP? Palmer 3 INT’s? What good weed are you smoking? Your run D will suck, Benson will be back on top as the league leading rusher. 2 TD’s for him, plus Palmer throws for 2 and Chad can show a new TD celebration!
