Another big game for Peyton Manning

At this point, when Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is having a huge game, it hardly even seems newsworthy. But we'll point it out anyway, because Manning is off to an absolutely tremendous start today in St. Louis.

At the end of the first quarter, Manning is already 7-of-10 for 118 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Colts marched down the field with a 12-play, 90-yard drive on their first offensive possession, culminating in a six-yard touchdown pass from Manning to Reggie Wayne. On their second drive they took just three plays to go 78 yards, with rookie running back Donald Brown picking up 45 yards on one run, and Manning dropping a 27-yard touch pass over the shoulder of Dallas Clark for a touchdown.

Manning has already thrown for 300 or more yards in the first five games of the season, and he's well on his way to doing it a sixth. The way Manning is playing, Dan Marino's record of 5,084 passing yards in a season could be in jeopardy.

At the end of the first quarter, Indianapolis leads St. Louis 14-3

UPDATE: Favre finished 23-of-34 for 235yards, with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Colts' 42-6 victory.

Awww you Devil. . . you are a closet Favre fan. Its okay. All of us in MN have decided its okay, too. Besides, Favre had better stats. . One INT, but pretty good numbers

    "Besides, Favre had better stats."

Since when is 34/51 for 334 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT, 1 fumble lost better than 23/34 for 235 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INT, 0 fumbles lost? I mean I have no beef with Favre, but his stats weren't better.

Let me add fuel to the fire and also ask how Favre can lose a game vs the Steelers and lead a blowout of the Rams at the same time.

John Madden has a closet full of BrINT Favre clones. That's how.

I'm a huge Colts/Manning fan, but damn I can't wait till we play an actual NFL team again. We've only had two challenging games, and the rest have been pretty horribly one sided. Stupid AFC South sucks this year...though the Texans might be waking up a bit.
