The Miami Dolphins’ season took a nasty turn in the second half against the Saints Sunday.
First, they lost a 24-3 lead (24-10 at halftime) against the undefeated Saints. Now, Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald reports that cornerback Will Allen will miss the rest of the 2009 season with a torn ACL.
It’s a brutal loss for a secondary that has been inconsistent. Allen is Miami’s most experienced cornerback and still its best. Rookie cornerback Vontae Davis will now jump into the starting lineup to pair with fellow rookie Sean Smith.
Allen signed a big two-year contract extension last offseason. His $5.2 million base salary in 2010 is guaranteed.

Coincidentally, the Saints pass offense woke up after Allen left the game.
Big loss.
Anyone who makes light of a player’s injury is not a fan but a clueless idiot.
