A week after quarterback JaMarcus Russell led the Raiders to an unlikely win over the Eagles with a slow-motion, Chuck Foreman-style spin move, and five days after defensive lineman Richard Seymour said that Oakland was heading to the playoffs, the Raiders have fallen behind the Jets by 24 points.
And Russell finally has gotten benched.
Bruce Gradkowski was inserted in the second quarter, and he continues to play early in the second half.
Russell completed six of 11 passes with two interceptions before being pulled.
The move comes nine days after owner Al Davis preached patience when it comes to Russell.
So on the day that one Bay Area team dusted off the first overall pick in the 2005 draft, the other one has pulled the guy picked in that spot two years later.
Can we get a ‘HALLELUJAH’!!

We need to get Al out of there like what happened to Bidwell in Az.. Al has done a lot for this league, but his time is over. Sign this petition and pass it on. It has a goal of 50,000 signatures, but I know there are 50,000 Raiders fans pissed about the situation out there!!

I don’t know what’s worse, benching Russel or putting Bruce in the game. It’s not all Russels fault for this disapointing season, the Raiders have the worse offensive unit in the nfl, worse wr’s and offensive line. If Chaz Schilens returns that might help Russel out, but this team needs to think about rebuilding the team, especially on offense.
Tom Cable will be gone at the bye or end of the year. The Raiders’ woes are on offense and Cable is calling the shots on offense. He is not a good head coach. The line stinks without his leadership. The Raiders are done for the year. They’ll stick with Russell and get rid of Cable. Davis had his eye on Russell since he was in high school. This team stinks!

The Raiderettes have one good game (or more accurately, their opponent has a horrible game) and their fans come out of the woodwork telling anyone and everyone that was the REAL Raiderettes.
And then, they get spanked again. At least Cleveland, KC, St. Louis, and Tampa managed to score some points.
Seymour must have been smoking something. I’m not sure the Raiderettes would even make the playoffs in the UFL. Does the UFL even have playoffs?

Raider fans just need to enjoy football in general and wait out the mess until Davis dies of natural causes. Life is WAY TOO SHORT to waste time trying to get Davis to leave. He won’t. It will give him motivation to leave Oakland if you say anything about him.
Take care of yourself, stay in good health and when Davis is gone it will be 4-6 years after the fact.

I heard Russell was pissed because Sanchez was eating a weiner on the bench (not that there’s anything wrong with that) and all Russell got was a carrot. Speaking of fat guys, I didn’t realize Ryan was that big. When he was pacing the sideline he looked like Alfred Hitchcock.

His problem is character. Ever since Russell was at LSU he was talented but lazy. Now he’s in the NFL where talent alone won’t cut it and, as everyone sees, he’s not performing well.
As evidence, consider this: it’s amazing that as soon as he gets drafted by the Raiders, LSU wins its 2nd national championship in 10yrs. Same talent, same team. Different QB. Different work ethic.

Sanchez has played only 6 games before today and won 3 of them … the media was all over him for his poor performance last week . He’s only a rookie for crying out loud YET JaMarcus in his 3rd season is so bad that he should NOT be even a starting QB in the NFL and nobody from the media other than Boomer says anything.
