Ricky Williams, Cedric Benson beating former teams

Ricky Williams and Cedric Benson have a lot in common: They were Texas running backs who were highly drafted, had dreadlocks, smoked marijuana, played minor league baseball and had their commitment to football questioned.

There was even an ESPN the Magazine cover featuring Benson trying to shake the comparisons to Williams, and a story inside exploring those comparisons.

Today they have something else in common: They’re both beating up on their former teams.

Williams, playing for the Dolphins against the Saints, has four carries for 70 yards and two touchdowns, and the Dolphins are whipping the Saints, 24-3.

Benson, playing for the Bengals against the Bears, has 18 carries for 99 yards, and the Bengals are dominating the Bears, 28-0.

And so while Benson and Williams haven’t always liked being compared to each other, today we figure they’ll be just fine with having matching big games against the teams that sent them packing.

Why is Cedric Benson even whining about being let go from the Bears? It’s his own fault for getting drunk on a boat.

    Dear Bears,
Do you have any other players you want to cut or trade, please call Mike Brown directly. We LOVE pro-bowl running backs but could use a tight end.
