Sedrick Ellis takes a cart ride

As if falling into a 21-point hole in South Florida wasn't bad enough for the Saints, they've also suffered what could be a serious injury to a key member of the team's defense.

Defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis has been carted off the field with a leg injury.

Of course, taking a cart ride isn't necessarily a bad thing.  Several weeks ago, Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was carted off with a towel over his head and later returned to the game.

    can anyone explain to me why the saints had 5 seconds left at the end of the first half??

    marques colston catches a ball and is downed outside of the goalline. 5 seconds on clock. upstairs reviews the play.

    now, on a completed pass, since when do they STOP the clock? I've never seen the clock stop on a completed pass in bounds before. so basically the saints had a free timeout to run another play to get the TD.

    bullcrap.

    Can anyone explain to me how the replay system in a BILLION dollar industry does not work 5 minutes into the game? Sounds like some shadiness in the sixth borough of New Jork.

    I didn't see the play however this is my take Texasphinsfan..
    phinsfan, If im not mistaken when booth reviews a play its treated as an unofficial timeout and clock starts again when team gets to line of scrimmage. When their is uncertainty if he scored or not, as far as NO knew they scored a TD. Why would they call a time out after they believe they scored a TD?

    Without seeing the play and knowing a loose outline of the rule thats what I would assume. Than again you know what they say about people whom assume things...Maybe that would help shed some light on the situation.

    @texasPhinsFan

    Maybe you should ask the dolphins coach why the saints had 5 seconds. He called the time out. Check the game log

    Yes I can respond. The refs ruled the catch a TOUCHDOWN on the field. Therefore a replay was issued. That's why your time was stopped. Was not bullcrap they were actually fixing the call made on the field.. Now if you want to complain to someone.. Complain to the Dolphins for calling a timeout after it was ruled short of the goal line and the Saints were going to hurry up and kick a field goal before half time..
