On Friday, Redskins executive V.P. of football operations Vinny Cerrato offered coach Jim Zorn the dreaded vote of confidence, saying that Zorn will remain with the team for the rest of the season.
FOX's Jay Glazer reports that owner Daniel Snyder was "urged" to do the same thing. But Snyder refused.
Per Glazer, Snyder feared that he would be unable to "bite his tongue" when talking to the media about Zorn.
So maybe Zorn isn't safe for the rest of the year.
Meanwhile, we continue to be troubled by the fact that anyone connected to the team saw fit to suggest that Zorn is safe. With players supposedly behind Zorn, why not let them think that a win on Monday night against the Eagles was critical to saving Zorn's job?
Snyder opted not to give Zorn a vote of confidence

Am I the only one that can't wait for the train wreck the next 48 hours will bring to the Redskins? Sit back and enjoy......
synder is a scum bag.
Well just like they said on ESPN they did it to take the pressure off of the front office and put it on the players and Zorn. Because before everybody was talking about how the F.O. needs to make a decision and were wonder what they were gonna do. But now that the players have got there vote of confidence for their "Leader" they now have to be the ones to back up what they've been saying and asking for.
He is just like Jerry Jones...only difference is that Jones got lucky with his first coach hire.
Since then, just like Danny, they don't have the skills to pick players & coaches. But their ego's are too big to hire (and keep) a strong GM that can.
I'm goin' with, "cuz Snyder is an idiot douche who couldn't build a winning fantasy football team, let alone a real one." Seems to be as good a theory as any.
It seems Snyder has given the same vote of confidence to Zorn that the Redskins Nation has
given to lil Dannie Snyder.
none
Sell OUR Team Danny Boy.
Sell OUR Team Danny Boy!!!!
Ceratto is just as inept a GM as Little Danny is an owner.
Boycott the Redskins
LOL, @ people who think it makes it better to drag the Cowboys & Jerry Jones into any discussion of the Redskins woes and their moronic owner. It doesn't. Kind of like the third graders who, when caught doing something bad, point at someone else and say, "Well, he was doing it too!".
The Danny has managed to put himself into a position in which the only comparable owner is Al Davis, only Al Davis is better.
Florio you're a funny guy anf I like the site but your football knowledge is minimal. If the Redskins players need Zorn's impending firing as motivation to beat a division rival and save their sason, then they're screwed anyway
So, basically, Snyder's attitude makes Cerrato's vote of confidence worthless. Nice.
