Bills-Panthers one-liners

Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick didn’t knock anyone’s socks off, but he did what he needed to do to lead the team to a 20-9 victory.

Said Bills RB Fred Jackson, “We’re still working, and its two big wins for us. After we started 1-4 we said we had an 11-game season,
and we’re 2-0 in that 11-game season.”

Bills S Jairus Byrd had two interceptions and became the first Bills rookie to post an interception in three straight games since Butch Byrd in 1964.

The Bills allowed 116 yards rushing, a 202-yard improvement over their performance against the Jets.

Bills WR Lee Evans had five catches for 75 yards and scored for the second straight week.

Said Panthers QB Jake Delhomme after his three interception performance, “Usually, I’m not too much at a loss for words, [but] I’m almost numb.”

A muffed punt by Panthers returner Kenny Moore snuffed out any comeback hopes.

The Panthers defense held the Bills to 167 yards, but turnovers meant they had short fields to defend on the two Buffalo touchdown drives.

While the defense played well, Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer writes that they didn’t make the one big play that could have turned the game in the Panthers favor.

Panthers K John Kasay missed two field goals in a game for the first time since 2005.

Can’t wait for Bill Cowher to take over and get rid of Delhomme.
