Jets-Raiders one-liners

The Jets became the sixth team in history to run for more than 300 yards in two straight games in their 38-0 shutout of the Raiders.

T Damien Woody knew right away that Jets RB Leon Washington was seriously injured after Raiders DT Tommy Kelly landed on his leg.

Washington’s injury means RB Shonn Greene will need to play more and he showed the Jets he’s ready for action with 144 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.

Jets offensive line coach and former Raiders head coach Bill Callahan got a Gatorade shower after the game.

Jets LB Calvin Pace had three sacks and two forced fumbles in his best game since returning from a four-game suspension.

The lopsided loss was the worst home loss in Raiders history.

Scott Ostler of the San Francisco Chronicle writes that there’s too much wrong with the Raiders to fix all at once.

Raiders rookie WR Darrius Heyward-Bey doubled his season reception total with two catches.

Raiders T Khalif Barnes was beaten by Pace for a strip sack on the first play of the game, which was also his first play as a starter this season.

Said Raiders coach Tom Cable of giving up a first down on a fake punt two weeks after the Jets ran two of them against Miami, “The whole thing this week was to make sure the ball was kicked,
regardless of the situation and we just didn’t do it. We
took our eyes off the punter, got into the return too soon and
everybody turned and ran.”
