Report: Larry Johnson hurls slur at the media

From our friends at KCSP in Kansas City comes the latest development in the sudden eruption of Mt. L.J.

When reporters entered the locker room on Monday, Johnson said, “I’m not talking [until] Thursday.”
And then Johnson uttered a sentence that surely will catch the interest of the league office.
Per KCSP, Johnson said partially under his breath, “Get your faggot asses out of here.”
Um.  Oops.
We’re told that audio of the encounter is coming.  So stay tuned.
As Gregg Rosenthal pointed out earlier in the day, Johnson used the three-letter version of that epithet on Twitter.

Much ado about nothing. If this had been one of the ganes played in London, Johnson would merely have been kindly asking reporters to please not smoke in the locker room.

  2. marcduke says: Oct 26, 2009 2:38 PM

Isn’t about time the Kansas City “Keyshawn’s” this a-hole?
Send his butt home for the rest of the season.

  3. VicksPuppies says: Oct 26, 2009 2:38 PM

Surely, a hefty suspension will be coming his way. After all, the league does not tolerate divisive language.

  4. RaiderMight says: Oct 26, 2009 2:39 PM

Wow! First Twitter diareah and now diareah of the mouth?
Don’t worry L.J. the Patriots will take you in as soon as the Chiefs cut you.

  5. bofarr says: Oct 26, 2009 2:40 PM

And we are now hearing the sound of the last die-hards dropping Larry Johnson from their fantasy rosters and adding Jamaal Charles.

  6. BernardPollardIsAnAss says: Oct 26, 2009 2:43 PM

This guy is awesome. One good partial season in the NFL after Holmes got hurt and he thinks he is the best thing since Barry Sanders. What a joke. He seems very bitter. I am sure it’s because he realized about two years ago that he has already lost “it.” What a chump.

  7. Colts18 says: Oct 26, 2009 2:43 PM

Nothin to see here folks, just a man trying to get out of a bad orginization.

  8. Resolution says: Oct 26, 2009 2:46 PM

You’re only as little as the people you let get to you. So be a man L.J. and stop being so cranky – oh, and I guess stop making stupid comments that offend people. Otherwise, this happens to you.

  9. rkell21 says: Oct 26, 2009 2:51 PM

Suspend him for ‘conduct detrimental to the team.’ I know everyone else here who has Jamaal Charles taking up space on their roster (like me) can agree.

  10. HappyBunny says: Oct 26, 2009 2:51 PM

I’m guessing he won’t be talking Thursday (nor any following Thursday unless it’s to ask his teammates to move so he can see what’s happening on the field).

  11. GiantsDefenseRules says: Oct 26, 2009 2:54 PM

Wow – LJ just opened the door for Scott Paoli to save some coin – 4 game suspension without pay for conduct detrimental to the team.
    Nice LJ….Well played. Moron

  12. Pipes says: Oct 26, 2009 2:55 PM

This guy disgusts me. If there is any karma, this guy will get a serious knee injury and be out of the league soon.

  13. stiller43 says: Oct 26, 2009 2:55 PM

Who cares? I don’t use such vernacular, but I wouldn’t be one bit offended if someone used it around me. The media hypes this crap way too much. I bet 90%+ of America says something just as (or more) offensive every single day. The only difference? It’s not public.

  14. slipkid says: Oct 26, 2009 2:55 PM

It’s ok. if the offendees were white, they will be asked to not bring it up again, and no punishment would occur.

  15. JimmySmith says: Oct 26, 2009 2:56 PM

Wait, there were Viking fans in the Chief’s locker room??

  16. EasyDrinkingBuschLight says: Oct 26, 2009 3:03 PM

Who cares. The media is just pissy so they’re tattling like 3rd graders on him for cussing them out and being mean to them. How dare someone be rude to the media? That’s *their* job!
People use the same language all the time when they’re upset, who gives a damn. And I doubt he was consciously referring to them as homosexuals so it shouldn’t even be offensive to anyone except for self-righteous d-bags who want to judge and harass other people for not being perfect little politically correct angels.

Larry Larry Larry, it’s not nice to call reporters that, unless of course his name is *cough* Mike Florio

Its not what happened today that pisses me off about Larry Johnson. He’s just an asshole. The only place he is all world is down at one of the KC clubs where he beats women on a regular basis. One last thing….I’ll bet his Dad is pretty bummed out after his son was talking him up so much…Afterall, he raised a worthless wife beater.

  20. Rev. Dr. HollywoodWags says: Oct 26, 2009 3:10 PM

I didn’t know you made the trip Mike.
These guys would kill you if you ever went near them, I think.

  21. ZimmyMan says: Oct 26, 2009 3:10 PM

Don’t publish the last post I sent. Even though he is not married I still consider him a wifebeater but don’t want to get sued for Libel

  22. endzoneview says: Oct 26, 2009 3:11 PM

Lets give LJ some props. He waited to go nuts until after the trade deadline to expedite his release.
He didn’t think of everything however: no team wants him

News flash, he said it in America.
The team / league needs to drop a bomb on him.
LJ is so deep in the closet he can see Narnia.

  24. cleanface says: Oct 26, 2009 3:36 PM

I guess that’s better than hurling the media.

  25. jeffz303 says: Oct 26, 2009 3:38 PM

I don’t care how much money he’s made, what’s the over/under for how long after the NFL checks stop coming in for this guy to go completely broke? He won’t even be able to do porn, because word from that same KC media he slurs (who have seen him going in and out of the locker room shower) is that Larry has a tiny little package. That could also explain his hostility towards women. When he sees a girl that he’s been with, they tease him about his small junk and he gets mad and spits on them, or throws drinks on them.
LJ doesn’t stand for “Larry” Johnson–it stands for “Little Junk”.

Don’t worry, LJ went to Penn State, he can’t read.
That’s like committing a crime and being worried about being convicted by a lawyer that graduated from West Virginia…

Did anyone stop to consider that he was speaking directly to Nancy Gay of Fanhouse?

  28. Pantherfan10 says: Oct 26, 2009 4:07 PM

I hate twitter, I think its stupid. However, I got a little curious and ventured into LJ’s twitter link and some of the stuff he’s said to people have been interesting to say the least….His whole “my dad did….” thing he kept ranting about was a bit ridiculas…

I used to be a beat reporter for a team in the NFL last year and I can promise you that if I was in the locker room and that comment was directed towards me, LJ would have more to deal with then just the Chiefs and the Commish.

Let’s see here, he had problems with the nicest man in the world Dick Vermeil, because Vermeil dared to suggest that he should improve on his pass blocking, which showed up again Sunday.
*In 2003 he was arrested for Felony Agga Assault and DV for waving a gun at his girlfriend.
*In 2005 he was arrested for pushing another woman to the ground.
*In 2008 he was arrested for pushing another woman’s head. (plead guilty)
*In 2008 he was arrested for spitting on another woman. (plead guilty)
*In 2009 he’s antogonizing his new head coach Todd Haley, and is calling people derrogatory anti-homosexual slurs.
After second thought, release this low life, enough is enough. Give him what he wants, take the salary loss, and take out the very smelly trash… And God only knows what he got away with at Penn State, their players are in trouble every day of the week. ESPN even did a story on them. If he had used the “N-Word,” and he had been white, he would already be gone. I hope the Chiefs hold back his paycheck, for conduct detrimental to the team, and release him.

please remember that whether it is a politician( member of the BlackNational Caucus), an athlete, actor or just a group of kids beating another bystander with a board THE BLACK COMMUNITY is held to a lessor standard of responsibility than others.

  47. Sasquash says: Oct 26, 2009 5:50 PM

If I was on that joke of a team I would say the same thing. KC way to not solidify your O-Line and instead reach for a guy you could have traded down to get. T.Jackson could be a good player but they need O-Lineman fast. You had last years good pick (B.Albert)teammate (E.Monroe)right there for you to take. Tackles would now be covered for the next 7-10 years. Now everyone on that offense will be run out of town because they “suck”. Instead of given a legit shot to produce. Front office has alot of work to do before the fans have anything to get excited about in KC. You would have thought KC would have thought ahead. If W.Roaf and W.Sheilds retire you need to replace them as soon as possible. Not wait like 3 years to do so, and murder your new QB and former stud RB. If only they had a great HOF TE who could help in so many ways. Dumb wormburners

I Amazed how a individual can not make a comment even if some people don’t like it. It’s his first amendment right to say what he wants even if it’s offensive that is the reason it was written so people will be protected to say what is on there mine even if others don’t agree. I am tried of this, a man could say what he needs to say without this bull crap.
