Vikings DT Pat Williams called the 27-17 loss "a freak game" and said he was more disappointed than upset.
The Vikings lost WR Bernard Berrian to a leg injury, but WR Sidney Rice continued his breakout season with 11 catches for 136 yards.
Tom Powers of the Pioneer Press writes that 11 penalties show that the Vikings' brains took an early bye week.
Vikings WR Percy Harvin's 88-yard kickoff return was one of three fourth quarter return touchdowns of 75 yards or more, the first time that's happened in NFL history.
Vikings rookie CB Asher Allen had a sack, a forced fumble and a key special teams tackle in his first NFL game.
The Steelers defense had struggled closing out games before Sunday's strong fourth quarter performance.
Said Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, "When you put up a couple splash plays defensively, when you put up 14 points defensively, you can overcome a lot of errors."
Steelers T Max Starks trains with Vikings DE Jared Allen in the offseason, which may have given him inside information he used to keep Allen from sacking Ben Roethlisberger.
Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley said his touchdown return in the fourth quarter was better than LB Keyaron Fox's because he had to juke and stiffarm more people on his way to the end zone.
Rookie WR Mike Wallace made two big catches, including a 40-yard touchdown, at the end of the second quarter to give the Steelers a three-point halftime edge.

You forgot how the refs robbed the vikings and swung the game 14 points on a phantom tripping call.
If the refs are going to favor the steelers they could be a bit less obvious about it.
The best player on the field yesterday was probably Peterson, however the player who played the best was Sidney Rice - that guy has turned into a monster.
Just watched Childress' press conference. Somewhat confused about him referencing yesterday as "fluke deals" when his team has won two games that way. Also confused about his statement about crossing out 7-0 and writing 6-1. Can someone explain? Dont get me wrong I think he has done a fine job with that franchise but did he have a stroke or something when he was a kid that makes his memory poor and his statements..well...not make sense?
And YOU forgot how the Steelers got ripped off by that phantom pass interference call on Heath Miller that took away a TD.
Yeah, the refs couldn't be more obvious about that.
Oh and nice holding that got ignored on Harvin's kick return TD.
Final score, Steeler D 14, Vikings Offense 10.
I think the best player on the field was Benny "Torpedo" Sapp.
Best tackle attempts in the game by far were both Favre's. Olé!
How about Sidney Rice becoming the"MAN" for Favre. He played like Hines Ward was supposed to.Kudos to our young secondary for shutting down Ward and the high power Steeler passing attack.
supersuckers: evidently you've never had a lot on your mind, because your quick to point our childress's press conference errors. If it weren't for the bad call that called back a td, and the two fluke defensive plays when the vikings were in the red zone, this could very well have been a blowout. And the vikings still had a chance to win this in the final minutes. The vikings outplayed the steelers in this one!

An illegal pick is not a "phantom pass interference call". Doesn't matter if it was near the action or not, he committed the penalty. Now you might be confusing the routes intention of being a scrub play, where the defenders take each other off their coverages but it can't be the receiver physically doing so.
Shittsburgh benefits from partail refereeing all the time and their homers want to still complain after being gift-wrapped a "W" by the zebras.
Take a look at the game again and you'll see many bad calls in the piss 'n blacks favor. A BS late hit call on 'lil Ben when he was barely a foot out of bounds.
A blatent miss call on the completion to S. Rice on the sideline by the side judge that called it no-catch. Minn challenged and it was reversed but what a oppurtune time to kill momentum and give the D a breather. I mean gee, they were indeed getting worked and a free TO was warranted because nobody wants to see Pitt loose.
you mean gift-wrapped by Favre.

Calls go either way in every game. Good teams overcome them. You can woulda, coulda, shoulda all day long but the vikes still lost.
Come on guys, the Steelers D made the turnover plays when they had the chance, and our guys didn't. They picked up their fumble, Ray Edwards didn't. They grabbed their INT and our guys dropped their two attempts.
We may have looked like the better team, but you gotta give the Steelers the credit for making the plays. The woulda shoulda crap makes us look like whiners, or more accurately, Packer fans.
Steelers fan here....very entertaining game yesterday. I'm not going to allow some bad calls that went both ways get in the way of the excellent play on both sides of the ball for both teams.
I expected Favre, Peterson, and Vikings d to perform as they did (very impressive), but getting the chance to see Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin was a pleasure. Rice looks like he is ready to become one of the best receivers in football. He has great size, speed, and balance. Harvin took some tough hits across the middle of field (even w/ the injury going into the game) this shows me his toughness. The dude finds a way to score every game.
Good luck to the Vikings and I'll be pulling for you to win the NFC.
The Steelers defense was due for some "splash plays." Not being able to turn the ball over at all in close games against Cincy and Chicago really hurt. I'm glad to see the Steelers defensive playmakers step up huge. How about Keayron Fox? From special teams stud to an awesome replacement for Timmons at middle linebacker is a true luxury. But seeing that Aaron Smith's side of the line was able to hold up against a stout offensive line and excellent running back like Adrian Peterson should serve as a great example of the Steelers defensive line depth.
The emergence of Mike Wallace, Rashard Mendenhall, and Keyaron Fox is an awesome sign for the Steelers.
"Vikings WR Percy Harvin's 88-yard kickoff return was one of three fourth quarter return touchdowns of 75 yards or more, the first time that's happened in NFL history. "
You see, this is what happens when the Commissioner has decided that holding on kickoffs, even blatantly visible holding on the last guy who could make a tackle, is not to be called.
Frank Burns, if you thought that pass interference was bogus, then you simply don't know the rules of football. It couldn't have been more blatant.

Hats off to the Steelers for finding a way to beat a team that had always found a way to win.
Hats down for clowns this guy above. Hey bud, way to get all logical explaining why Miller's phantom PI wasn't, then getting all non-logical and ignoring the fact that the defender LAUNCHED HIMSELF HELMET FIRST at the QB, and admitting yourself he was a "foot" out of bounds. Double standard much?
You haters have no logic.
All I gotta say is,
HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO
Sorry whiners.
vikes backer---
Lets play this same game you are playing for the vikings other games...
If ravens kicker would have made that kick, vikings would have lost, if rams would have not turned the ball over in the red zone 4 times, vikings would have lost, if donald lee didn't drop that td and rodgers didn't have 2 to's in red zone, vikings would have lost, if lewis drops that pass against 9ers, vikings would have lost.
Man now I know why Vikings fans do that, it is very fun!! /end sarcasm
I don't know Adam-you gotta give Reed credit for that great tackle attempt on Percy's return.
There is not a game that goes by where the ref's give both teams something to whine about--stop whining.
It was a great game and neither team has any reason to be holding their heads down. I don't think anyone realistically expected the Vikes to go 16-0. Outside of the Saints I can't see any NFC team beating the Vikes if they continue to play like they did yesterday. Pittsburg will have to deal with NE, Colts & Broncos eventually. But we saw two good teasm yesterday.
That one's in the books. On to next week (which by the way), I am not looking forward to.
If this, if that. If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. GO PACK!

Voice of reason, if you can't see that Dugan rolled over on his cut block, then you not only are ignorant to the rules, you're blind.
And go watch Harvin's KR and tell me there was no holding.
Next!
Look...there were bad calls both ways. Harvin's KO TD should have been called back as well, but it wasn't. The OPI call on Miller (though it may have been technically correct) was very ticky tacky as well.
And the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was a good one. Not only did the defender hit Ben when he was out of bounds (doesn't matter if it was only a toe or a foot), he led with his helmet, left his feet and launched at him. That will get called all day long, especially on a QB.
Your HC lost that game for you guys. Anyone who decides not to pound Peterson into the end zone when you have 1st and goal from the 1 deserves to lose.
Bottom line: I'll take the win. You Vikings fans can handle all the whining.
@ i'm president charlie! - Good post. It was a classic game for sure. After a while my anger of losing turned to the thought that the Vikes can play with the champs and almost get it done. Was a great test to come to Pitt. and see what we could do. I'm sure no one would complain about a rematch of our teams in Miami! lol If the Vikes could make it there, the Steelers are the team I want to play. Good game.
The final word for you whiners.
Go back and review the Dugan play, and you'll see:
1. The blocker sinks and makes contact with the LOWER PART of his body (legs).
2. He blocks Harrison with his legs, not upper body as in a "normal" legal cut block.
3. Harrison is brought down by the blockers lower legs -- if that isn't tripping, somebody get me the definition.
Notice the ref had no hesitation throwing the flag here -- because it was that blatant and obvious. I DARE anyone to argue after watching the replay.
It's a shame all these so-called "experts" on TV don't know what tripping means. Amazing.
You've got a good chance to make it Pervy, very good!!
Good grief, after reading all 100+ posts on the Aftermath article, I don't have time to read these or I'll never get any work done. So I'll just assume it's the same stuff and say ...
Big girls and boys don't whine. They take their losses like grownups. SBXXX broke my heart and there were some bad calls in that game. But we sucked it up. All games have good & bad calls. Yesterday some went with us, some against. Two great teams met and the Steelers won fair and square. If you didn't see that, you don't know enough about the game to be posting here.
Great job Steeler D!!!! Nice hit, AP. The Vikes should be relieved because Brett took a beating and kept going like the Energizer Bunny he is. I LOVE my Steelers. And I'll be rooting for the Vikes at Lambeau. Have a great day!
@ footballrulz - lol That seems like a long road! As we all seen yesterday, anything can happen. Those Saints seem like one hell of a team right now. The Cardinals shocked me last night also. I really do think you got to put your Pack in the talk also.Rodgers can light up the scoreboard.I think the game between us Sunday can turn out to be a classic game also. For the game that is. Not just the return of Favre lol
It was a fluke game plain and simple. Anyone who thinks different didn't see the game, is a vikings hater, is a steelers fan, or is a complete idiot.
The Vikings more or less dominated the game. Defensive TD's in and of themselves aren't necessarily flukes but these two particular ones in this game definately were.
But the ball isn't round and sometimes you never know where it will bounce. Even though the Vikings were beaten on those fluke plays and a bad call, they still looked pretty dang tough.
Green Bay better be scared as hell because they lose this weekend's game, which they probably will, and the division is sewed up more or less especially since Chicago lost again (i think or maybe I'm mixed up).
I hope a few Viking Fans on here don't continue to whine. We lost fair and square, we did have a BS tripping call, but I had forgotten about the PI on Miller, that was BS too, We had 2 great chances to take back the lead and win, Yes very rarely do 2 turnovers get taken back for a TD 75+ yards, but it happened. I think Offensively and Defensively we played pretty damn good (cept for those turnovers) I'm not taking anything away from the Steelers both teams played great football and it made for a fun game to watch, back and forth scores in the 4th. I think this is a good thing for the Vikings, we are going into Lambeau after a loss, this can only help our chances. In a way this helped silence critics cause we played great defense against a great team (i.e. World Champs) and everyone already knows about our offense we just came up short big deal we're 6-1 and still on top of the North, the Pack is NOWHERE near as good as the Steelers..... Great Game, unfortunate result.

Wonder if you had that same attitude after San Fran outplayed you, but lost on Brett's Hail Mary. Or when Baltimore absolutely scorched your defense, but lost on a blown field goal.
Now all of a sudden it's about who "outplayed" who, not scoreboard.
Hilarious.

Who's whining? I thoroughly enjoyed seeing that the Vikings lost. And of course, Favre's token attempts to look like he was attempting tackles sweetened the deal. I really loved the one where he dropped to his knees when he saw Ryan Clark looking at him. Why even give chase if that's what you're going to do?
Having said that, Favre's screen pass should've been caught. Not his fault Chester put it on a platter for the Steelers. It wasn't his best pass, but it's not his fault. I didn't see the game, but by watching highlights it looks like he played pretty well.
And for all you nitwits calling those 2 defensive TDs "fluke plays", feel free to call Mendenhall's fumble inside the 5 a fluke play. Feel free to call Harvin's kickoff-return TD a fluke play.
Both teams benefitted from "fluke plays". I haven't seen the tripping penalty, but the refs didn't force the Vikings to turn the ball over. Blame them for taking 6 points off the board, but don't try to claim it resulted in a swing of 14 points. The Vikings still had the ball and the opportunity to put up 7.
So many people are coming off as extremely ignorant when it comes to understanding NFL rules.
The call against Dugan was 100% accurate. Anyone calling it "phantom" or "ticky-tack" is straight up wrong. That includes Florio, the Fox broadcast team, and some of the talking heads on ESPN.
In the NFL, you can not tackle or block another player using anything but your hands, arms, and upper body. If you block or tackle with your legs, it is a trip. Dugan flung his body at Harrison and unintentionally hit Harrison's legs with his butt and upper legs. That is without a doubt a trip. It doesn't matter what part of his legs Dugan used, nor does it matter that it was unintentional. It was clearly, without a doubt, a trip.
Don't believe me? Listen to Jeremy Green's podcast at ESPN's web site. He and Matt Williamson say the exact same thing.

Hey superfan99, these are blind Viking fans they don't care about rules, unless its when the rule is enforced against the other team that is!
Burns, if you're claiming the Ravens and 49ers were the better teams or dominated those Viking games, you must have been flipping channels while watching the Pack, cause the Vikes clearly were the better team in those games -- just like they were in the Pack game.
The Steelers won, but that DB that got TRUCKED by PETERSON in the 4th QTR, has been on every sports channel so far today!!! LOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!

---------------------------
So you want to use a completely subjective viewpoint and claim that means "dominance"? So how do you measure dominance? Time of possession? Yardage totals? Either give a metric or admit you're just another homer trying to justify two close (and "flukey") wins for your team.
Bottom line: this was close only because the Steelers decided to scrap the deep ball and go dink and dunk. This toasty Vikings secondary w/o Winfield was begging to be reamed, but got off easy. Notice what happened when Ben threw it more than 30 yards downfield, twice. Trust me, Ben easily could've had another 350+ yard game if they'd game planned for it.
Watch Green Bay not do the wrong thing, and light them up next week big time.
@GTisMe ...
Since you're posting the same nonsense on both articles, I'll answer on both. Can't stand the Pats. But you're nuts if you think the NFL or either of these teams is buying off an officiating crew. The NFL has been trying to create parity for years and would have LOVED a Cardinals win in SBXLIII. The more teams in the championship mix, the more fans to come out of the woodwork, goofy! The more fans, the more $$$. The NFL is a business. It's all about $$$.
Do you actually know anything about the game? If you do, then go to the league's site and watch the video of the tripping. Dugan whips Harrison's legs with his, causing Harrison's legs to whirl up in the air. That's why the ref threw the flag. Moose Johnston may not like it, but that doesn't make it a (GASP) bad call. Questionable, maybe, but part of some grand conspiracy? Get a grip.
What, are you getting bored with Area 51 and the Grassy Knoll?
Everyone of yall are idiots. Neither team looked good. Vikings offense did not look impressive consistently, on 1 or 2 drives they looked good, but otherwise not much. Pittsburgh's offense looked impressive on 1 drive. 2 pretty good defenses although Minnesotas looked better. Pittsburgh is dreamin if they think they will repeat. They are not even the best team in their division, and then you have the other three division leaders ahead of them in the conference. They did win, but the 85 dolphins beat the 85 bears that don't make the dolphins better, just better that day. So Steeler fans keep on, but yall barely have a chance to make the playoffs.
When I was watching the game and first saw the tripping penalty I thought that was a bogus call!! But when I watched it again last night, I think it has some merit. He did not fall like someone normally would when going down. It was a good disguise but I think it was intentional.
Just think, if Percy Harvin was a paper towel dispensor with legs Jeff Reed would have knocked him out!!!
It was a good game. Favre gave that victory away.
Everyone chill ok ? lol God there is so much to go over but i will be breif ..............
I seen 4 plays where the refs blew the calls . Bad calls or no calls for both teams . Both bad calls cost td's . Lets get over the calls ok ? Bad calls happen in every game to every team . Stop saying the league wants the Steelers to do well . Its not true you all know it . So please stop the bad call and conspiricy theories .
Yes the Viking had alot of offense against the Steelers . But lets clear some of this up . Dont the Steelers deserve credit for stopping Peterson for most of the game and giving up only 68 yards rushing ? Not bad considering what he did last week against the Ravens D .
You had alot of yardage but the Steelers played good when it counted the redzone defense . Come on to say you dominated our defense yet you only scored 10 points on our D . I think holding the Viking to 10 points is a great job by the Steelers . Your D played great as well . But Mendenhall was gashing your D . He ran the ball half as much as peterson and had the same yards .
We did score 13 points on your D . So your team gave up more than the Steelers did . Both defenses played great . Turnovers hurt and thats what cost the Vikings not the referees . Your coach not running Peterson first and goal from the half yard line amazes me .
Steeler fans feel your pain . We lost 2 games this season we should have won . But we made mistakes that cost us . So we have been there . Your mad cause you could have won but didnt . So in all it was a great game and both teams should be proud . Lets hope there is a rematch .
Stop the crying though you are starting to sound like Seahawk fans . And those fans are still bitter and cry every chance they get . dont get like them ok ? Goodluck the rest of the season .
Great game all around. It could have easily gone the other way. I think both teams proved something. The Vikings proved that 6-0 wasn't a fluke. They can hang with anyone, even on enemy turf. The Steelers proved that they are still a force in the AFC.
Bad calls go both ways, and I think they tend to even out over the course of a season.

Oh that's right youre too busy rooting against favre to worry about the Packers.
I just watched the tripping play again and it was clearly the correct call. The player intentionally swung his legs up to impede the defender. Clearly a leg whip. In my opinion a dirty play by Dugans.
Come on man!
Roswell saucers,Elvis's death, global warming, death of Diana,Apollo moon landings. All conspiracy laced subjects that can be argued forever.
Vikings lost. Steelers won. Very close game. The refs were not Art Rooney's Jr's poker buddies. A simple win and loss. Conspiracy dead.
Nearly 200 Vikings posts today. It was the game of the week for sure.
It was a very good football game, played by two good teams. Special teams TDs happen every week. Defensive TDs happen every week. Minny has been on the plus side of those alot this season, and that's great; it's resulted in wins that, depending on who's at the keyboard, were "good" wins or wins described with lots of oaths and expletives. Wins, nonetheless. The Steelers won. It's done. All over but the ranting, of which there is an avalanche.
I hope Berrian's injury isn't serious, but Minny has a pretty deep WR corps at the moment. Sid (Astaire)Rice is now a legitimate threat and defenses have to account for him. Harvin has again proven his worth as a very high draft pick. Peterson is literally God. No, he didn't rush for over 100. Apparently that isn't possible at the Ketchup House. OK. But please ask Mr. Gay if 28 hits like a freight train. Is Mr. Gay conscious yet?
I hope Chester forgives himself. The Geez will even get a small dose of praise again. We can't blame him for the late pick. Clearly the Steelers had the running game mostly bottled up so passing was necessary. I don't think Chester heard footsteps, but crap happens. Not even the great Aaron Rodgers would have thrown it away in that moment. Time was against Minny. Favre was doing what he knows how to do and looking for another San Fran moment.
And don't criticize the play calling. Any NFL coaches in the audience? Didn't think so. We've won this way, we've lost this way. I wish every Vikings win was 80-0 and every opponent was humiliated. I wish that most for every Packers game, of course. We'll see next Sunday.
Favre goes home to play in his most comfortable surroundings. He'll say this is just another game in another town, and that, of course is crap. But if you think a guy with more NFL experience than just about everyone alive is going to be mentally hurt by it, guess again. HOFers don't get rattled. I can see the hate shotgunned all over Wisconsin all week. Tons of ka-booming about all the bad blood. Burning jerseys; I'll bet somebody even takes down the Favre Street signs or defaces them somehow. I'll also bet that Favre doesn't see the news or listen to anybody about it.
This is now the biggest game of the year. Winning it puts Minnesota in the driver's seat in the division with only the Teddies to beat for a lock on winning the division. Even splitting it with Chicago will suffice, I think, if we beat the Packers twice.
Has their O line improved? I guess so, if the Browns didn't get a sack. Wow, they really do suck, I guess. I didn't pay attention to the GB Cleveland game. I saw the score and expected it. There are several NCAA teams and maybe a UFL team or two that would give the Browns a run. You'd damn well better beat Cleveland by a big score or there are problems with your team.
I say Minnesota by 10 at Lambeau.
Let's quit talking about the refs; this was a hard fought game by both teams. One wins; the other does not. It's that simple.
Its easy to blame the refs for a "phantom call" that erased a TD. But what about the fact that the Vikes could not score from the 1 on 4 consecutive plays? or the 3 offsides calls on Hampton? The dude never gets called for offsides because he is right above the ball. The obvious head bobs by the center drew him offsides and were ignored by the refs all 3 times.
Whiners!!! Score from the 1 before you start whining
@Gordon Tremeshko ...
Welcome back! And thanks for being as classy after the game as before. It's sad that all the whining and conspiracy nonsense has overshadowed a great game.
As for your Vikes, I loved AP's hit on Gay! Don't get me wrong, Gay's our guy and I'm sorry he was trampled. But football is a contact sport and you've got to hand it to a runner who mows down a defender like that. What a play! Rice is impressive--though I was most impressed by his earlier leaps for onside kicks. And Favre gave more weight to my earlier predictions that he'll go the distance this season. He took quite a beating and jumped back to his feet. Good for him! Hope he has the game of his life next week.
Die-hard vikes fan here. There are only few people on here that learned anything about sportsmanship throughout there lives. There are the guys whose team loses and they shovel out as many excuses as possible. Stop being a PU$$Y. There are those whose team wins and they still try to rub it in the opponents face as hard as they can. We should take a lesson from the guys we watch play the game every week and say "good game". Then there are those who say it how it is whether their team wins or not; or aren't fans of either team and give non biased opinions. For those of you who even care about how you rep your team or yourself stop and think about what your actually saying and ask yourself if it even matters. Pissing and moaning won't change the outcome. We are all better off just looking at the facts we (VIKINGS) lost and the steelers won. It was a great game in my opinion. If we played them again next week it could go either way but we don't we get the pack in Green Bay and it should be a good game. To steelers fans great game and good luck I look forward to the next meeting. To packers fans we're comin, we're comin. To the real fans thanks for the refreshing posts I see on this site here and there. It's great to see that there are still people who don't want to sound like some j.v. girls crying over broken nails and the guys who want to see who can make up the most "phantom" stats. The rest of you should realize that opinions are not facts and the stupid things you say only make the rest of us sound better.
Did the referees stop the Vikings from scoring a TD when they had 1st and Goal at the 1 yard line?
No.
I seem to remember plenty of teams getting TDs called back on penalties and not all of them lost. I don't understand how you can claim bias when BOTH teams got TDs called back. "Yeah, but our penalty was more unfair!" You sound like little girls.
the steelers came to play football and played with passion especially on defense! the vikings are not all that you think you are. we held you guys in check, face it when you play against the steelers now matter what you're in a war! the vikings have not faced any real defenses until you
faced OUR DEFENSE! you Viking fans talking bullcookies about how you should of won, well

Have some class. Had Taylor not let that pass go through his hands, you could very well have been sitting here with a loss.
I know it didn't happen, but for God's sake, if you watched the game, your defense by no means "jacked them up".
It's tough to hold your tounge when idiots like this post, but in deference to the MANY classy Steeler fans, I will.

Yards, yards, yards.. I thought yards meant nothing, chickendick? Careful, your hypocrisy it showing.
You get insults because you deserve nothing but insults. Eat my lunch? The next time you "eat my lunch" will be the 1st time...ain't happening lil boy.
You are one dumb monkey and most of the Packer fans on here cant stand you either.
What does that say about your relevance to anything intelligent?
I never said yards meant nothing, I said there were other measuring sticks besides yards.
Did they get jacked up by getting 2 turnovers? Yep.
But this poster was implying that they stopped the Vikes offense cold, which was definitely not the case.
Careful pissandmoanerson, your ignorance is showing, again.
@ Adam Chris
Only comment in my post meant for you was aobut the tavckles--Reeds attempt at Percy was downright laughable -- as were Favres.
Whining comment was directed at all the oh, the refs blew it, BS. One can tell the real fans on here. They appreciate that it was a great game and smack down the ones who want to fall on excuses.
Don't worry rulz, he doesn't grasp basic reading comprehension.
I think he also suffers from a persecution complex from all the people that shoot down his posts.
You know you are an idiot fan, when even your fellow fans don't like you.
Long and short... the Steelers penalty was an obvious penalty. You can not run a pick in the NFL. It is often not called but still it is a penalty. The Vikings "tripping penalty" was not a penalty period. You "trip" (in the NFL) with your lower legs not your hip. So the answer to all of that argument is that yes the refs screwed the Vikes. But there is no way a team should not be able to score from the one yard line with three tries and a RB like AD and BF at QB and SR and PH and VS at receiver come on now that's some BS.
whew ok that was confusing to write ttfn.
like i said jerk(chickenfoot) our defense did put a lot of pressure of Favre and kept Peterson in check bottom line we won the game now matter what the stats say wiseguy and dont call me an idiot wiseass ok! steelers came to play and could not put up the points that you needed to ok, OUR DEFENSE ROCKED YOU and i will say what i want with class or no class i dont have any thing to prove to nobody, I like to stick up for my team the STEELERS! when we lose i don't complain i move on
wow....The Steelers defense made absolutely monsterous plays in the 4th to put the game away. But we did not "jack up" anyone on Sunday.
Favre had monster yardage. We held AD in check on the ground and made a huge goal line stand. Most people forget that the Vike's actually had 4 chances at the goal-line not just 3. The first run they had Casey Hampton went offsides but AD got stopped and the Vikes got a free play out of the deal. That MAY be why Chilly passed on 2nd a 3rd. Officially AD got stuffed twice.
I'm not taking anything away from the Vikings offense, they played the ball control situation masterfully. They had the ball for 13 more min that the Steelers did, that's almost a whole QTR. What I want to say though, and this is just OPINION, is that Bruce Arians had more to do with the Vikings having the ball so much longer than anything else. They guy has been, and it didn't change on Sunday, calling TERRIBLE games. Some of you here may have seen prior posts where I point this out.
One more thing, the absolute second the ball bounced off Taylor's hands Brett Keisel drills and tackles him. He wasn't going anywhere anyway. Not for a 1st down, not for a touchdown, if he catches that ball the play goes for a loss of 2 to 3 yards. NOW OF COURSE that doesn't give us 7 points on the scoreboard, but you guys act like you were going to score regardless. If Fox doesn't grab that interception there is still a plethora of different things that could have happened.
1.you score
2. you make a field goal
3. you miss a field goal
4. you turn the ball over anway
If you score a TD the Steelers get the ball back, and right before half-time the Steelers went 90yds in just over a minute for a TD. Who's to say we wouldn't of scored again in the end? Our two-minute Offense is one of the best in the league, if not THE best.
It was a great and exciting game. I'm just saying guys.....there was still a lot of football to be played had that interception never happened.
For those who say, "Our D shut you down in the second half". Yeah, your D played great in the 2nd half, but see my gripe about Bruce Arians above, and we didn't run our hurry-up O in the 2nd...at all. Food for thought.
Ok there's only 1 thing to say: THE STEELERS WON. STFU, quit whinning and let it GO!!!! it's over with. How mant times has ANY NFL team been beaten, robbed and such nonsense. If the Vikings were robbed to badly Sunday why hasn't anyone called the law? BECAUSE IT"S USELESS! have to agree with steeltownpride. It was a good game all around. There were times I thought it could go either way and Farve is hell in the pocket and the clutch so give the man credit and also the Steelers D line. It's only week 7 quit tripping and watch them play ball. Who knows they (Vikings) liable to make it all the way just to crash and burn.
