Each week, we offer up a one-at-a-time review of every game from Sunday afternoon and evening.
We do it from the game that we deemed to be the best of the day, all the way to the worst.
So here they are.
Steelers 27, Vikings 17: The Minnesota defense showed up in the second half. The Pittsburgh defense showed up bigger.
Saints 46, Dolphins 34: The Saints leave Miami looking a lot like a team that will be returning there in February.
Cardinals 24, Giants 17: It was the defense that delivered a big win for Arizona, which has parlayed the return of the “everyone thinks we suck” vibe into three straight wins.
Texans 24, 49ers 21: The good news for San Fran is that maybe Michael Crabtree was worth the money, and the wait.
Cowboys 37, Falcons 21: Cowboys fans and Cowboys haters will argue about whether this one means anything. The Falcons will find out whether it was a fluke next Monday, when they play the Saints.
Bengals 45, Bears 10: As the Bengals continue a season in which they beat the good teams and struggle with the bad ones, maybe they’ve finally blown out a bad one.
Colts 42, Rams 6: So when will the point spreads reflect just how bad some of these bad games are?
Vikings lose, yet are still the number one game (albeit in Lord Florio’s eyes)
Makes ya wonder bout all those clowns that have constantly said so many negative things since preseason.
I still think the Vikes will go 12-4 or 13-3 for the season. The road to the super bowl goes thru MN this year! (yea, ok, maybe New Orleans) LOL
When Miami went up big on the Saints, I thought to myself, “Damn, that Florio knows what he’s talking about.” Then, the Saints came back…..
Who is going to beat New Orleans at the Superdome??
The Saint just proved how solid of a team they actually have. Miami proved they are getting better. Great game overall.
Don’t forget the token shot at the Eagles Florio.
It’s showdown time next week Florio, let’s see what little snippets you have for the Eagles and what excuses for the Giants you have then.
Oh and all the last two weeks proved – Eli is still Eli, he didn’t change into any sort of Elite QB, he’s still same ol Eli overthrowing and throwing to the other team.
I can’t remember a season where there were so many teams that are this awful. I constantly see the better teams in the league taking heat because “they haven’t beaten anyone good”. The reason for this is that half the teams in the league are terrible. By this logic, half of any teams wins are probably going to be against “soft” teams.
Right now it’s clearly the Saints followed by a second tier of about 6 teams that are good, not great. The bottom 2/3 of the teams in the league have no shot. The bottom 1/3 is embarrassing.
Packers vs. Browns?
The Saints made Chris Carter look like a genius yesterday. Berman, Meshawn, TJ and Ditka all took the Dolphins yesterday, lol.
Of course, Carter also picked the “homer” Vikings…
Giants have been radically outcoached in last two games. Coughlin’s decision to kick a fg with a foot to go in 4th quarter presupposed that his team had a touchdown in them. With Rogers-Cromartie nursing a bad leg on the sidelines, Gilbride sent Bradshaw into the line twice for no gain. I don’t think G-Men have the personnel — the smug Pierce is a joke — but the coaching is not getting anything out of what they do have. And I go back to the days of Ward Cuff, Tuffy Leemans, Mel Hein, Ken Strong et al.
Kravon Asks, “Who will beat the Saints in the Superdome this year?”
Heck, the real question might be, “Who will beat the Saints… THIS YEAR?”
I know its way too early at this point of the season to say, but are we looking at one of the greatest teams in NFL history, and just don’t realize it yet? That just sounds wierd because it’s the New Orleans Saints, for crying out loud!
But the reality is that no NFL team has ever scored this many points in the first six games of any season – EVER. Plus, we’ve seen the Saints win big with passing, win big with rushing, win big with Defense. It’s almost baffling, but it seems like nobody can stop them, and nobody can score on them.
“The New Orleans Saints” and “Greatness” – in the same sentence? Whacky. Cool, but Whacky.

On average, the winning team scored over 21 points more than the losing team this week. If you take out the two lowest scoring games, the average difference goes up to over 24 points. That’s freakin sad.
Looking at the Saints remaining schedule, I’d have to say the Pats have the best shot at them. Long as they can keep up their good play. Not like the last 2 blowouts were real tests though.
Its very early to crown the saints. Wierd things happen in the playoffs. Teams that dominate teams in the regular season lose. The saints havent played the steelers, vikings, patriots, falcons, bengals, ravens, chargers, broncos, colts, packers, bears, cardinals, and cowboys.
They have beat a
1-5 Lions
2-4 Dolphins
3-4 Bills
4-3 Jets
5-2 Giants
4-2 Eagles
that had a 1st time starter in Kevin Kolb b/c Mcnabb was out and an injured Brian Westbrook and Kevin Curtis
Im not trying to take anything away for the Saints. They have won the games they are suppose to win, beat a decent Jets teams, a good Giants team, and a good Eagles team albeit without there 3 best offensive players healthy. All Im saying is they have won 6 games not 19 and they still have there whole division 2 play twice plus the pats and cowboys in the regular season. Then they would still have to beat the best teams in the NFC in the playoffs and if they made it that far they would still have to beat the best in the AFC where the team with the best record lives The Colts.
So slow down people anything can happen in the next 15 weeks. Drew Brees could pop a lung doing his pregame ritual with the team and the Saints season could be over that quick.
